Like the title say’s. Is this game really as bad as the most of you say or are you just upset that this game didn’t live up to your expectations?
My point is that alot of people here bash the game unending (like they did with all Halo game’s before)although it isn’t half as bad as most of you make it to be. I know this game has it’s flaw’s, more than any Halo before, but alot of it is something you could fix without a titel update and a few with titel update and yet most of you do like this game can’t be saved anymore and have no hope. 343i are listening and this game isn’t as hopeless as most of the community say’s.
TL;DR: This game is better than alot of you say and it’s flaw’s can be fixed.
I Hope this thread doesn’t turn out to be another place to hate on this game.
I believe this game has its flaws, but what game doesn’t?
However 343 is trying to correct these flaws and in just a few days updates will start coming to make this game better.
So my answer is the game at its current state 8/10
After updates 9.5/10
Eh, I enjoy it. Then again me and my brother have enjoyed every Halo game till now. And I’m the type of girl where as long as I’m playing a game and being sociable with my friends or family on it. I have fun. xD
Well, considering the hype it probably could not live up to the expectations people had, which were COMPLETELY unreasonable. But it still is a great game. No more crappy than any other title at launch.
For me it is terrible, I hate classed based shooters. Guess what that is exactly what halo 4 is. There is no fixing it because this is the direction that 343 wants to take it. And in doing so are removing any variety that was once there in the fps genre. So yes this game is as bad for as people make it out to be and without changing everything 343 decided would be a good idea it cant be saved.

Erm sorry but how can it take away variety?? surely it adds more variety to the game? being able to choose a weapon to start with that suits your play style is surely better than being forced to play one way??

I think what he meant was there are different types of fps. Halo was an arena shooter/fps and now has become a class based arcade shooter( which is what most shooters are becoming today). This lowers the variety of the different types of shooters under the genre.

I meant fps’s as a genre, currently there is basically only one type of fps we keep on seeing. That is classed based shooters. Halo 4 just adds to the problems that the genre is currently suffering from. No innovation and no variation in the types of shooters we get. Dont even get me started on loadouts i prefer fair starts that arena based shooters have not the inherently unbalanced crap of classed based.
I think a lot of the negativity this game gets is because we know it can be so much better. 343 did a great job with making the game feel faster than Reach but they just dropped the ball On so many things.
Also things like rotational playlists are just a bad a idea from a new developer that replaces a good idea that was proven to work and gave us way more variety in playlists. I shouldn’t have to play Halo 3 and Reach to play team slayer and team doubles.
In 2010 all people did was bash Reach because it wasn’t Halo 3. They complained about the maps just being recycled from campaign, how they hated the unlock system.
When Halo 3 came out, all people did was complain about how it wasn’t Halo 2, and that equipment would ruin the franchise. How the Spartan Laser is OP. One guy said he returned his copy when he found out a glitch from Halo 2 wasn’t included.
When Halo 2 came out, people complained, saying hijacking would ruin the series, that the pistol wasn’t the OP weapon it was in CE. How they should remove dual wielding. When it took Bungie two months to do something about Standbying, people said they were going to quit.
Some people have legitimate complaints (like those wanting weapons re-balanced). Others have idiotic complaints (like the guy who said the game looked too good).
You, sir put it far more eloquently than I ever could.
Basically, people are complaining, some with legitimate problems, but most simply complain because it isn’t what they had played previously. This happens with every game franchise, no matter what.
After taking 2 months off from the game and then coming back, it isn’t terrible; it is definitely better off than Reach was. The fact that you can spawn with a precision weapon in vanilla playlists is a huge, huge step in the right direction. I’ve also gotten used to dealing with the AAs.
Honestly, my only remaining gripes are the ability to spawn with 2 sticks, the boltshot, and the ordinance. Yes, the DMR makes the BR obsolete, but what’s the difference between that and not having the BR in the first place? The biggest thing is spawning with instant kills and having snipers raining out of the sky for kill streaks for some players and not for others.
The map selection is kind of crap but after some thought, Halo 3 didn’t start off much better, what with Snowbound and Epitaph lurking about. It definitely had some maps that were significantly better, but in terms of the average…

Yes this game has new things such as classes, specializations, etc. But I mean there not just gonna leave everything the same. It’s called a new game for a reason, because it has new features. If you don’t like, I’m sorry

Changing for the sake of change is bad. You are right in the sense that a sequel should add new things and keep the experience fresh, but you also have to keep the things that brought people to your game in the first place. Halo 4 fails to do that. They added to many new things and got rid of so many of the old that halo 4 doesn’t feel like halo.

New features are understandably going to be introduced that I am fine with. I however do not like it because it changes the type of shooter it was. Not only does it change the type of shooter it is but it also changes it to a type of shooter that is horribly stale and way over produced.
Finally, I have located another post that actually SUPPORTS Halo 4. Personally, I think Halo 4 is the best out of the series. And yes, I have been a Halo fan since the beginning (Halo: CE).

That’s definitely not an unreasonable opinion. We’re kind of in the cycle of “the newest [insert title] game is worse than the last!” type of thing. The game definitely is not without its negative issues, but I have really been enjoying it. Hopefully 343i is really listening to the community feedback and will pull through with a practical title up date that addresses everything.
