Is Halo 4 in 3D?

If not, then why on earth not? 3D games and movies are the greatest thing ever. It’s like being high without having to smoke anything.

It isn’t and we don’t know why.

> So are there some surprises to come, like those in Halo Anniversary? “We are not supporting 3D TVs or Kinect for Halo 4,” said O’Connor. “3D in Halo Anniversary was a benefit we got from the method we used to switch between classic and modern graphics, and we were able to use that area of the frame buffer to put out two sets of data at the same time.”

Sometimes developers choose to avoid the 3D features to focus on other areas. Though it wasnt a mass improvement to the overall game, MW3 didnt have 3D while Black Ops 1 did.

something like that might hurt my eyes x.x

show of hands please who has a 3D tv here?

i do not.

no one i know has one.

no one i know online has one.

they are expensive, and the vast majority of people who will play halo 4 will not have one. so spending time developing the 3D setting would have been detrimental to the overall quality of the game. anniversary had it as the game was done fo them 10 years earlier, all they did was throw a couple of bits into it and repaint the textures it was easy to put 3D in at the same time.

i don’t like 3d. I find it way to cheesy in movies since most of them don’t do it right. and ive never played a 3d video game but i don’t think i would like it. and i’ve gone to best buy and tried the 3d tv in the back and i’m not a fan. I think it is too gimmicky.

Hope not.

How can making Halo look more realistic be gimmicky? We experience our lives through our eyes in 3D. If 3D is gimmicky, then so are realistic graphics.

I honestly don’t see how anybody can be against 3D.

If you don’t like it, you aren’t forced to use it, it is a nice bonus to those who shelled out hundreds of dollars for a 3D TV.

Hence why i put I’s all over my comment. For me its cheesy. have you seen all those movies in the last two years that have been in 3d? well me neither, because i just don’t like it. My opinion. If you like it then great but to me its just not my thing. If halo had it, then great for those who have the capabilities. I would turn it off.

I believe it was something about the games rendering engine that 3D would be a massive recoding of the engine to handle it.

Anniversary was a different beast in that they were able to provide 3D support for though.
