Is Halo 4 copying Call of duty?

According to game informer armour abilties and loadouts are coming to halo as well as random dropped weapons spartan points and spartan ops missions. Now many have said that using the word ops or adding any type of charcter custiomzation is a strict COD clone but is it really?Halo has the best gameplay out of any FPS ever its fast its fun its just perfect. But what other than DLC can keep a game alive?Customzation. If a player can add attachments and scopes to any of Halo’s great guns than players have something to come back to other than trying to get armour parts.I think this is great for Halo and will reassert it as the king of fps what do you think these new features will do?

No, they are just evolving. Halo needed to evolve, it needed something new and fresh, and I think we finally have that in halo 4.

No

> No, they are just evolving. Halo needed to evolve, it needed something new and fresh, and I think we finally have that in halo 4.

Exactly. For a game that spurred out with “Combat Evolved”, the community really doesnt want it to evolve.

it’s only copying CoD’s scoreboard in a game. loadouts aren’t going to be like CoD’s, Halo will set it up in their own way (only using spawning weapons: AR, BR, Pistol, etc). CoD’s perks don’t relate to Halo’s AA’s. In CoD, perks only give a player a physical edge (run faster, reload faster) while Halo has actual enhancements (jetpack, invisibility). the only thing that could be related to CoD is the scoreboard. 343i is taking good ideas from OTHER games, not just CoD. apparently they liked the scoreboard from CoD. we don’t know much info on spartan points, so we’ll have to wait what influenced that idea. and in all honesty, i always thought we needed sprint. that way could be given bigger, more open maps.

Are apples and oranges both fruits?

I hate it how everyone on this forum thinks that COD invented literally everything.

I actually think halo 2 started xbox live, right?

IMO yes. Anyone can see that. The names show they either aren’t even trying to hide it, or just have really bad foresight.

I’m not trying to say this was a bad move. Simply stating that it certainly seems like they copied CoD.

I’d like to mention a little feature called Theater.

Spartan Ops… This in itself already makes people say it’s a CoD clone… Well, it’s not. I’m sure of it, Halo was, is and always will be its own game.

Ehhh… I hate it when people spout out this nonsense. Bungie didn’t even want that tagline. MS added it.

Judging by what I’ve seen it’s straying too far away from it’s original formula that made it such a blast to begin with.

They are going a little to far, but don’t you think the game should evolve a little bit?

Sure, every developer should try and implement something fresh in their sequels. But only if it makes sense. They shouldn’t add stuff for the sake of it. Evolve implies that the game will be more complex, unique. Seems the opposite to me.

What’s being added to Halo 4. Well… Reach already tore apart the balanced simplicity that was fun for everybody in CE/H2 and arguably H3. Looks like H4 is going to be like Reach on another level to me, rather than the original trilogy.

Halo doesnt need to evolve, Halo needed to stay Halo. God damed 343 what have you done.

EXACTLY!!! With halo following the same formula for years, it needed something fresh, and 343i is going out on a limb with this game, hoping they please us all, they just want us, the consumer, to enjoy there product, which I will

It will bring new and experience players. But it’s not a complete call of duty clone. The names make it sound like it.

Hey watch your language, and calm down. 343i has developed their own halo game, and if they feel it is still halo, but in a very new and unique way, then let them create it.

What you say sounds foolish…So many people like you, want “the classics”, remember these new Halo games ARE NOT made by Bungie, and its selfish for you to want 343i to be restricted by only what Bungie did in the past. Im sure they already feel enough pressure trying to keep Halo, Halo.

I welcome the change, this is a NEW trilogy, and it deserves to have the mark of 343 industries branded on it.

Foolish? Well, that’s subjective to say the least. Aren’t I such a bad person for wanting Halo to actually have some semblance to how it once was?
