I play MCC on Steam, but sadly H2C BTB is D E A D. I was just wondering if people are playing it on Xbox so I could find matches when they add crossplay.

Dead? No but you won’t find matches fast. Halo 2 classic BTB is all I play lately. During peak hours you can find matches but if you’re playing during off hours it could take awhile. Sometimes how it works is the exact people you just played a match with, most of them would be in the next match and the teams would just be different (unless some people where party’d up, I usually run solo que).
I can’t wait for cross play for the same reason for Halo 2. For me Halo 2 classic had the best big team maps of all Halo games, so I would love to see the the player-base for it grow so we could find matches.
Edit: after reach dropped, that slowed it down a lot. Tons of people still playing that game. Back before reach dropped you could find H2C BTB matches almost instantly
It’s alive on Xbox no problem getting games
Btb matchmaking seems to rather a whole if you restrict it to one game.
I set mine to H1, H2, H2A, H3 and find games really fast. It’s about 80% H3 matches though

Take off h3 if you want games other than 3.

I never said I didn’t like H3, that’s why it’s in my composer settings usually >.>

I don’t mind it but it’s all you get if you have it on.
For me, H2 BTB matches are usually hard to come by. After searching and researching for about 15 minutes, I generally add H3 BTB to the mix and get a match there almost immediately. With the two combined, I might get 1 H2 match for every 10-15 H3 matches.
I think now it is probably because kids are back in school. I’m having issues finding ce and h2c btb games now. Also h2 swat too.
but gamers don’t play in the morning/afternoon it’s always at night time. That’s where we’re more active.
