Or is it just me?
Might just be you, not sure though. I haven’t found the Halo 2 BR to be inconsistent. Although I can definitely tell you the shotgun in that game is!!!

It’s definitely more consistent than the Halo 3 BR or the Reach DMR. To answer your question: no, it’s very consistent.

Don’t blame the reach dmr its not its fault they put bloom on it
Inconsistent how? The weapon aims for you.

Exactly. Bloom kills its consistency.

Not at all. This version of the halo 2 BR is so much harder to use than the version of halo 2 and H2A. With halo 3, I guess it’s randomness makes it harder to use.

I think the H2 BR in H5 is easier to use than in H2 and H2A, but that’s just me. Feels more powerful than the standard BR too.
Aside from a slightly slower kill time, the Halo 2 Battle Rifle is functionally identical to its H5 counterpart w/ the Laser Targeter. As long as you maintain your aim around center mass, you should score an easy kill.

The reticle of the halo 5 version is actually a lot smaller than all the other BRs. Proof. Here’s a comparison of Halo 2, 2A, and 3’s BRs. Go to 5:26 of this video to see the Halo 5 version of the Halo 2 BR’s magnetism.
Feels like it reloads a little faster, but I only played one game of BR slayer so far.

I mean, that’s all fine and dandy, but that doesn’t change my perception of the BR and how it feels when I’m using it in both games.
I think it is just you, whenever I use I get a lot kills and headshots with it. I think like with any other weapon you need to practice with it more to get use to its feel and how to use it as it does not act the same as the Halo 5 BR.

I’ve tried playing Reach recently but there are so many campers due to no hitmarker, and DMR bloom ruins it for me.

Facts don’t care how people feel unfortunately. The facts show that the Halo 5 version is harder to use than previous versions. You’ve probably just gotten better and more familiar with the halo 5 version.

Like I said, I don’t give a -Yoink- what the facts are. The Halo 5 version does feel more powerful to me so whether or not it is in actuality is irrelevant. And no, I haven’t just “gotten better and more familiar with the Halo 5 version;” that has always been my perception.
I think it’s just you, it seems to do very well for me. The only thing that would make it better, were if I were a better player.

Yeah, none of that proves much. The H2C reticle isn’t significantly larger than the H5:H2 rifle. It also failed to showcase H2C’s magnetism range, which I guarantee doesn’t leave it’s reticle outline, unlike H5’s. It also fails to account for overall aim assist values, and since we’re talking about ease of use, that’s a big factor.
If anything, all that stuff points out to me is that the H5 version is functionally identical with a misleading reticle size. And that’s just me being generous about it. (Oh, and FoV and aspect ratios also have a factor here).
The inconsistent aiming is what makes it seem inconsistent. It’s not the guns fault.

Did you not see this picture? The Halo 5 version is substantially smaller than the Halo 2 version. There’s also this video if you want to see Halo 2’s magnetism (it’s very low quality though). Turns out it actually does leave the reticle. There aren’t any videos on aim assist besides this one, but it should give you an idea of Halo 2’s overall AA. If you really want, feel free to go into a game and try it out yourself.
