Is H4 really worse than H3??

If 343i released a new Halo game with Halo 3 gameplay but with Halo 4 graphics, would you play it more than Halo 4?

-No ordinance
-No armor abilities
-No loadouts (everyone starts with the same guns)

Probably not, I played Halo 3 for 5 years, I would’ve gotten bored very quickly.

Just give Halo 3 a firefight mode, it’s own thing not ODST’s and I’ll call it even. Halo 3 as far as I am concerned is still one of the most feature packed Halo games where the features are all around overall great to excellent.

Halo 3 is so much better in my view. Halo 3 will always be my hero for the Xbox for getting me this far.

I have noticed that the Halo community is so divided with this issue. Personally, I think H3 is timeless. It was such a challenge to be good at that game with map control, weapon control, and power up control, and it rewarded you for your individual skills. I would drop H4 in a heartbeat if another Halo was made with H3 gameplay and H4 graphics. I was wondering who else would agree with me and see who wouldn’t. They are planning to make a H2 Anniversary with MP. If 343i makes a H3 Anniversary and incorporates a H3 style multiplayer I’m sold…but thats wishful thinking.

Well lets see
In halo 3

  1. you could browse ppl’s fileshare anywhere except in a game.
  2. you could watch theater with up to 4 people.
  3. Most maps actually ran pretty smoothly.
  4. hit registration is the same as halo 4s. so no difference there…
  5. You couldn’t start with anti-vehicle weapons
  6. you couldn’t start with a mauler.
  7. ranks/social
  8. vehicles didn’t put health before shields.
  9. spawns were insanely good.
  10. no killboxes on any map except sandtrap/box.
  11. skillgap
  12. campaign is so much bigger than h4’s. and so re-playable
  13. the User Interface was friendly and easy to read
  14. a party couldn’t match randoms in ranked.
  15. weapons on maps, weapons don’t disappear after 10 seconds
    I could go on and on.

Things halo 4 did better than halo 3.

  1. forging maps is faster (still worse than reach)
  2. drawing a blank here. Guess there is nothing better…
  3. oh wait JIP is good if used right. but so far it isn’t used right.

also note. just because your weapons are way more accurate than halo 3’s, it doesn’t mean the hit registration is better. before you didn’t get any autoaim with the br(dmr) across the damn map. Ik you all know how hard it is to hit that last headshot on halo 4 right now unless its on lan.

Yes and no.

H4 have some good improves, but it has flaws. LOTS!

Dear Sweet baby Jesus if they would have just scrapped reach’s MP and built off of H3’s then I wouldn’t be contemplating leaving the halo community. I was never more active or competitive with any other game except H3. I seriously used to think about Halo all day and look forward to playing with a group getting to 50 in ranked games. I would watch videos every chance I had and practice whenever I could but that all came to a screeching halt when reach was released. I was honestly heartbroken with that game. You can joke about it all you want but that game crushed something in my heart. It was the worst thing in the world to imitate halo(I don’t consider it halo). I wasn’t bad, I was actually quite good, but that game felt wrong, played wrong and went against the whole concept of what halo MP was all about. This crap about huge maps doesn’t promote map movement because of the dmr(sniper like weapon lol), you dont have to have map control in order to be winning the game, armor abilities like Active camo(a power up) and the Jet Pack(super jump)give players unreal advantages. Tell me…What is the point in having multiple leveled maps if your going to give someone the ability to jump 20 feet? People are no longer afraid to drop away from an advantageous position because they can just Jet Pack right back up…seriously? OH!OH!OH! Lets stand still with a sniper and use Active Camo… I get the fact they want to bring in new players(NOOBS) but dont rape the competitive community in the process. Oh and WTF did 343i do to the BR? Recoil, Spread, 5shot Kill…WTF is halo doing using hit scan? Actual bullets and leading your shots IS A HUGE PART OF WHAT MADE HALO 3 SKILL BASED!!! Let’s see someone use the DMR without hit scan. I bet it would be hilarious. So yeah…I am literally at my wits end with this game. -End Of Rant

Yes Halo 4 is worse than Reach and Halo 3.
Why?
Well, Halo 4 has less features and playlists than both.
Halo 4 was made to please CoD kids.
I can go on forever.

We play it for one reason and that it to remind us why we despise it.

The thing that sucks is because Reach changed so much of Halo, Halo will never be able to go back to its original state.
