I am Gold in arena slayer and every game I face platinums and diamonds. It’s rare to get a full lobby of Golds and I NEVER see silver or bronze. Do they exist? Why am I always matched with higher players but never lower? Is Gold effectively the bottom now? I did get ranked diamond in team arena one season (and only one season). Did that change some hidden metric for me and now I face higher players in all playlists?

Probably true. The only time I’ve had much success was back in the winter when I played a couple hours every day. I don’t have the time now and Halo isn’t very forgiving if you are a little rusty and not the best to start with. But we won’t talk about how Halo 5 needs a laid back goof off mode, and how ff was supposed to have been that mode. Nope not gonna talk about it haha.

haha I really wouldn’t worry about it. I mean the key to most of the modes anyway is to find somewhere you fit into the team. If you play objective pick a role, are you going to attack and kill, or defend and feed info and your own objective secure. In regular slayer you going to be the clean up man or the guy with the all the assists. Team work is key, no matter what rank you achieve.

Team Assault Preview is great for practicing 4v4 in a social setting, recommend taking advantage of that playlist while it lasts.

Doubtful. Someone at the champion level isn’t going to retain their skill by playing against super low-level players. Iron sharpens iron.
Yes, smurfs exist, but I don’t think it’s as bad as you make it out to be.

I’m Gold 5, and I only usually face other golds and platinums. I also rarely face diamonds, but they’re usually only rank 1 or 2.
I’m platinum 5 was platinum 6 but I quit (was months ago) haven’t played slayer in a while just FF, infection and WZ I might get back into it and get into diamond
I am stuck in Plat 3. It is a struggle I swear
I only play the minimum games to get ranked/emblem. Always against other unranked.

My little brother played on his roommates account once and went 25-0 in slayer. My brother is a high diamond player.
- You cant be sure its smurfing
- You have no way of knowing if the player is even that high level
- Sometimes people have good games
