Timing or just reflex? I’ve never been good with the Sniper, Suprisingly I’m decent with it on Halo 4 in BTB, yet I suck with it in Team Snipers. My sensitivity is at 3, but is it reflex too or just timing?
it has far , far to much aim assist .

Don’t even get me started with the Beam Rifle…

I am good with the Halo 3 sniper and I suck with the Halo 4 sniper (It’s probably because I am not getting used to it because I never play it), anyway …
Long range: Be patient, they don’t see you …
Middle range: Quick scope
Short range: No scope swipe
Guy asks for advice and the first response is about aim assist. Ugh. I’d say timing and positioning is more important over all than pure reflex. Getting good positions and angles is going to make shots easier naturally, of course. All the flashy snapshots tend to come later after you’re more familiar with the feel of the rifle. Patience and concentration. Being better and at fundamental techniques pays more dividends than just trying to be fancy.

I am patient when i use the sniper. I know how to use the sniper rifle well, b/c i’ve used the rifle whenever i play Cabela’s Big Game Hunter. My sensitivity is at 4, which i have always had when i use a precision weapon.

The beam rifle does, the others are fine.
Unrelated, but does anyone find this sniper rifle much harder to use than Reach’s? I mean, I ust put in Reach a few days ago, and in my first BTB match I scored an overkill with a sniper. I have a history of that, and also of consistently sniping gunners off of warthogs. In H4 though, I rarely ever have any of that.
OT: I’d say your angle and positioning is by far the most important aspect. Find yourself a position that isn’t easily flanked, but offers a wide field of vision over a very open expanse. More importantly, learn to relocate with every few kills. When you’ve got that down, if you can score a headshot with a BR, then you’re skilled enough to use a sniper. Timing and reflexes take a backseat.

From my experiences it’s more difficult with flinch. You get the first shot off and your fine, but if anyone shoots you you’re screwed b/c now you can’t hit anything with the screen bobbing. Camping tends to be the only thing that works well with it now.

Or any weapon in the game, really.
But I have the opposite problem. I can use the Sniper Rifle pretty decently in Snipers, but when I get it in regular games, I have so much trouble with it.
Neither. Magnetism.
None of the wepons in this game take skill, and the dmr is ridiculous.
Just hope that the person doesn’t have a DMR

I’d say a little of both, yea there’s a great deal of aim assist but I trained my sniping on Reach where the RRR isn’t as far reaching. In fact, I had a little of a hard time adjusting to the higher level of aim assist in 4. lulz
Just like Riot though, I like sensitivity 4 also.
Neither. Using the sniper is piss easy; the only thing easier to use is the beam rifle.
To be more constructive, if you’re trying to use it while unscoped, don’t do it right away. Try killing at long range or with quickscopes first, then move to noscoping when you’re ready.
I’d say for the most part it has to do with both. Except in the beam rifles case where its all about reflex.

Was that really called for guys?
Jeez, I never expected so many replies. Thanks guys, and I will try a 4 senstivity.

Perhaps…too patient. You had the sniper almost an entire game, from what i remember.

4 is super good for sniping lol. 3-4 is the most common controller sensitivity all the MLG pros use
Except it’s some other gaming league playing Halo now…that I don’t really care about.
