if content updates are coming out and such content does hold free content, should it not be just that. free and already unlocked for usage. granted that it should have some limitations like warzone weapon/ vehicle req. cards. When I think free content it should be just that. unlocked after the update and able to be used. I still dislike this microtransaction idea. Free should be free. 343i could stand to take a page out of Dice’s book. look at BF 4 and Hardline. free content generated and implemented in updates for a game that is already a year old and the different weapons and maps are available for use and the fan base is praising DICE for their work for the community. I am more than just some cash cow willing to give my money to the franchise for a sweet emblem or that sweet armor. I am a longtime fan who wants to enjoy the game at it’s full potential without having to shell out 5 extra dollars just to get these cosmetic items.

It’s free or you’re impatient. Now which one is it???

neither, I just have a life and would like to experience a full-on game with armor that I like and an emblem that I like. there are better ways of making someone work for their things. We could stand to have challenges to lessen the grind just a bit along with the xp/ req boosts, not that I don’t like playing at least 2-3 hours on warzone for gold packs, but I can assure you there are greater things to do in that timeframe than grind in hopes of getting the item you want instead of having a bunch of random unlocks that you’ll never use.

I see what you’re saying, and you’re not wrong. But for myself, I always felt that unlocks related to performance is just another way of patting good players on the back while telling the other 90%, “Sorry you suck, but keep trying so the MLG guys can practice on your sorry -Yoink-.” I prefer it when the reward for superior performance is winning, and things like unlocks are rewards just for playing.
And you can get to your emblem and armor without shelling out one single dime as long as you’re patient. This is their intention. They have a title that they’d like to see enjoy a substantial population for the next three years and one of the ways they keep that population is by not handing them every little trinket in the first six weeks of the game. Now I know that you’re thinking that you don’t want to grind forever just for a piece of armor, and I’m here to tell you that, having lived the Inheritor grind in Reach, I agree. But there’s a balance between the two. If we get to the end of this game three years from now and you’ve had to put in the hours that I did in Reach in order to get all the goodies you want, then I’ll take back everything I’ve said here, but I really don’t think it’s gonna be that bad. Only time will tell.
I paid for the game, so these consistent updates are not really free, I did pay for it all up front.
They are only free because people bought REQ Packs. So, no, they really aren’t free. The fact you don’t even get armor for beating Legendary, a thing since Halo 3, shows they’d rather you pay for new armor or grind their game. I’m content doing neither.
No, because rack packs cost and intern support tournaments and DLC. And besides would you really want something that’s free and unpolished?

You have a choice to make here, either you grind and enjoy earning all these items with REQ points or you pay a small fee. Its free if you want it to be but you come off as salty because you have a grind ahead of you. Blue pill or Red pill?

My tone is not rude nor snarky. You have a choice to make here, either you grind and enjoy earning all these items with REQ points or you pay a small fee. Its free if you want it to be but you come off as salty because you have a grind ahead of you. Blue pill or Red pill?
I would have been fine if they left armor and emblems out of it to be honest. If they just had the req pack be for the war zone weapons, vehicles, armor boosts and so on I would have been okay with this grind. and when it comes to 5 there is no spoon
