Is FOTUS just meme lords with a military contract?

FOTUS is canon, which is strange but then I realized something, half the stuff they do while stupid is stuff you can see meme lords on the battlefield doing… look at tankers for examples.

So my question to you guys is this.

IS FOTUS A FRONT FOR MEME LORDS?

Just look at it, a fake company made by meme lords across the galaxy just to try and put joke items up for spartans to use… some of which become popular despite being useless while others end up actually being useful. See the cat ears.

fotus and “cat ears” are just wastes of resources that could’ve been spent making actual content in the game. They’re both ugly as sin and serve literally no purpose in Halo

I highly doubt the same teams are working on those things.

So the team making armors and attachments are completely different than the the team making armors and attachments?

This is light lore with FOTUS. And it allows them to put fun things in the game Ex: Cat ears. It takes like 30 mins to model and hurts absolutely nobody. No need to hate it.

I could say the same about the tea kettle in IRL British tanks as a joke.

good thing the cosmetic team and the main dev team are different teams.

this, and I really love the idea of them being a company of trash posters and Meme lords seeing just what the UNSC will allow.

I mean 100% the cat ears where one of the recruits going hey I want to weld cat ears onto my helmet and using FOTUS to do that.

FOTUS (Fist of the Unicorns) is an irl group of gamers and do make parody memes, that also had a band poster in CE:A. Assuming these accounts are right:
https://twitter.com/fotus
https://www.youtube.com/c/FOTUS/store

They’re just a community of people, but in lore, Fist of the Unicorns was a crew band on the UNSC Pillar of Autumn in 2552. 343i just likes Unicorns. They’re just some joke easter egg, like Fronk’s fish nuggets, I guess. No deeper significance to them in lore. I guess you can consider FOTUS armor stuff to be band merch.

“Tested in the rough and tumble streets of downtown Kirkland, Washington.”
— FOTUS armory description
FOTUS-class Mjolnir is a variant of the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor [GEN2] manufactured by 343 Industries.

It’s just a recurring inside joke 343 came up with.

Yes but thinking about the company seen in infinite as in lore not just the easter egg and inside joke.

British Tanks same as american tanks i’d presume, have something called a BV (boiling vessel) used to heat up rations and yeah tea and coffee.

There’s no actual kettle

Time for me to assemble Spartan Fireteam Kitten’s Mittens and put the slaughter on you.

Was more making a point that some times memes end up in military tech. Like how modern IFV’s have chargers and some tankers will be playing Dota while on the field (I wish that was a joke.)

haha yeah i was sure i probably missed your point mate, and tankies are probably bored cause we mop up before they’re needed.

I mean, if it makes you mad that’s worth it.

The cat ears make me feel very seen.

They DO have a purpose: cosmetic

I think FOTUS is cool. Kitty ears are cringe but ppl like them so I dont mind

Besides: Halo 5 had some of the most cringe skins: Pizza, French Fries, Rainbow. Super ugly. But its cosmetic so I could care less

Some times cringe is cool, and yeah nothing will beat the pizza skin in cringe level… I miss it.
