If Forge takes a lot of space and time to develop Halo Infinite, maybe its better to drop it out and invest in something else.I was never a fan of Forge because it is too limited of what people can do with it.What’s your opinion on this?
I think complete disregarding of Forge would be a huge upset and alienate an extremely passionate subsection of fans. Forgers may make up a small percent of players but even non-forgers tinker with custom games and such. Forge has become a staple of Halo at this point; to remove it would feel similar to removing split screen, which didn’t go over too well.
Forge has always been pretty good about what it was designed to do: edit and design maps. It was never meant to be some massive mod tool. I wouldn’t call Forge “too limited” and I wouldn’t remove it.

But it takes over 30 gigabytes or so on Halo 5 just for Forge. No matter how good maps people could make the developers maps will always be better.I tried playing Custom Browser for Timmy Helmet but i can’t play it,its just Assassinations,Clan recruits and Infection. And when someone tries to make something unique of a game mode, they can’t because you can not change the game rules much beyond core mechanics.I know that a lot of people love Forge, but im suggesting it to make it a seperate thing outside of Campaign and Multiplayer.
Forge is a part of the magic of halo, removing it would be a great mistake

They could make Halo Forge game separately, bigger and with more options.

This 100x
Seriously, I’ve been playing since H:CE and literally never touched Forge, ever
I didn’t even bothered to think about the possibilities
**BUT …**Forge simply belongs to Halo and to be honest, your argumentation why it should be simply dropped is pretty weak.
Like, seriously dude? No offense, you think dropping an essential feature since almost 10 years would be good
just because you’ve never been a fan of it?
That’s not a valid reason, not by a longshot
There are countless people who dislike mm and play only campaign or even more who play exclusively multiplayer,
but I never heard or read the suggestion to drop one of those things just because “it takes up space”.
It’s definitely necessary.
It wasn’t included at launch for Halo 5 and that was not received well.
There are a ton of forging communities that have contributed great things to Halo, and to take that from them would be very unfortunate.
The positives of Forge far outweigh the negatives, imo.
Forge and forgers have contributed massively to Halo 5 & the Halo games overall and removing something as iconic as Forge would do irrepairable damage to Halo’s playerbase.
What may be a good compromise would be something like the MCC’s intelligent delivery system, so that you could have the option to install forge or not.
Honestly i mentioned a long time ago on Forums that i would rather have Campaign and Multiplayer Halo be 2 separate games. And now i think Forge should also be a separate thing.Im sure this way we would have much more quality content in all 3 of those components. They would all receive new content and improvements every couple months.

Yes, and no. They could wait few months, even a year before add it to infinity, but they should add it. Even if everyone do not like it, its some kind of part of the spirit of the game. As said above it almost make 10 years this feature released for the first time, why removing something such iconic?

It would have so much more potential if it would be made it’s own thing with much more options and no limits.I once saw a Halo Chess game in Reach and i was amazed how someone could make this. But then i see they couldn’t make the game be over when the King dies and that’s a pity that people don’t have such advanced options.

But it’s more limited having Campaign,Multiplayer and Forge in one game.Let’s do all 3 of them separately and with more content over time.
its still the same amount of people working over the separate modes. This would probably mean we will get less content over time since its covering 3 different games

Yes,but how much can you squeeze into one game that all 3 modes are made the best they can be?We didn’t get any dlc for Campaign in Halo 5,Forge was not there from beginning and any new content for Multiplayer was depending on how good the microtransactions would sell.I love Campaign the most, have finished it in one day and now i have to wait for years for new Campaign.I would rather pay for dlc every couple of months.

Cough Activision
Na forge is here to stay, some of my best memories were making race tracks on reach forge every sleepover haha
Two words: Intellegent Delivery. Pick and choose what you want to install. It’s already a thing in MCC.
Forge has always been a pretty big deal to a lot of people I feel since being introduced in its most basic form in Halo 3. Dropping it would probably bring upset to a large number of players.
You trust 343’s map making ability that much? Nah, man. Forge definitely needs to stay.
