I’ve been waiting patiently for any news on any progress for this but it seems to have died off and I dread the thought the people who were working on this left 343 leaving this to rot. Sentinels working is great but I would have loved to see the flood at least be a great addition to ODST.

Then you might have an answer for this one
It hasn’t been abandoned, it’s just all the attention is on the hot mess that is Halo: Infinite. 343i confirmed a while back that more content is coming this year, we just don’t know when that content is.
Supposedly the scope of their plans has doubled since the new year, and a few comments they’ve made seem to imply that firefight is in a significantly better state than it was during the flight. They havent mentioned the when they plan to release the ODST update though, and there’s no guarantee they will make a comment tomorrow (but the hope is they will)
Yeah we are all waiting for this… that and for 343i to include the remaining H:O exclusive maps in the game.
Seems like the whole idea of frequent updates to MCC has been thrown out the window by now. I find it quite astonishing they promised this but now we have received absolutely nothing besides Exchange Store Content, which is really just nothing, longer than Infinite launched getting new content. We really need an update for MCC as soon as possible.
They just unfortunately can’t make any money giving free content away for MCC, and they’re probably not making much with the silly bass-ackwards business model they gave Infinite either.
I’m restless for new MCC content and updates but if they’re taking their time due to drastically increasing the scope of what they’re doing and they’re committed to doing everything that needs doing, I can wait.
I don’t think it was their intention to make money off of the MCC seasonal model, especially how adamant they were that it would remain free. The MCC support seemed more as a good will gesture by 343.
On the Infinite front, despite how terrible it has gone, is probably a gold mine for 343. If everyone could agree and not buy a single ítem from the store, I’m sure 343 would be pressed, but there seem to be enough whales to keep the game afloat.
While they had probably been making some money off of it as the stuff was being ported to PC, the seasonal stuff was clearly just to hold the community up in the dead air between Halo 5 and Infinite.
I hope MCC support continues after we get the rest of the leftovers, but the developers won’t have much of a reason to without a cash incentive.
No but MCC provides something a little more important for 343 other than cash, goodwill. Think about it, after Halo 5 the community was pretty po’d with 343 and didn’t want another title from them, UNTIL 343 started making MCC everyone’s Halo game wet dream, the problem is that MCC set such a high standard, that it would be impossible for any NEW title to match said standard.
OR they’re just waiting out the clock for 2022 hoping we forget. Considering how 343 is scamming and finessing the crap out of the community with Halo Infinite, this kind of tactic wouldn’t surprise me either. I hope I’m wrong, but we’re 1/3 of the way through 2022 and NOT A PEEP on ANY MCC updates, not even a teaser screenshot or message from Insider.
Honestly if the next update was just 343 adding the rest of the cut content into each of the games, upping the private file limit across the board, and giving us the ability to remove boundaries in Forge, I’d be VERY content with MCC at that point.
except that would piss everyone off waiting for flood firefight and the remaining mod tools.
they have said nothing is abandoned or cancelld. only that season 9 was turned into smaller updates.
Something tells me nothing has been mentioned about season 9 or 10 because 343 is now mulling over whether they continue to do seasons for MCC between Halo Infinite updates or not. I mean didn’t they say like 2 months ago they’d have news for us “in a couple of weeks”? Yeah sure seems like some kind of plans are changing regarding MCC.
Personally I hope 343 dumps infinite and focuses on MCC. MCC is the better game, and the better experience.
There won’t be further seasons:

Last mention (I think) of the next update is within this article:

I believe they’ve addressed recently that this will be getting added. Personally I am looking for the remaining H:O exclusive maps to be ported into the game (Reactor especially)
Goes to show you didn’t read my whole post otherwise you wouldn’t have bothered to actually post the link. Plans change, especially when the initial plan fails.

Not abandoned, just fashionably late.
I did read all of your post. I’d be interested in a source showing they’ve changed plans and, after stating in September 2021 there’ll be no further seasons, they are “now mulling over whether they continue to do seasons for MCC between Halo Infinite updates or not”.
Looks like an update to MCC is coming next week. We’ll see then whether that’s a Season 9 or not.
