Hello, I’m new to Halo 5 multiplayer, and personally I don’t care too much for the REQ system already. I jumped into Social Team Skirmish and got CTF and was getting totally wrecked. My team pulled a win but I did awful. I switched to Warzone and barely got any kills because I was then getting absolutely dominated by Ghosts, Energy Swords, etc.
I just got this game on sale, with the Warzone REQ bundle (which is not showing up at all by the way) and would really prefer to play Firefight. In Warzone I only see Heroic and Legendary difficulty, and moreover it’s public match. I just want to relax and get to terms with the multiplayer in a more controllable environment without getting stomped because I’m a noob in Halo 5 Multiplayer. I did the campaign a few months back when I rented the game, but couldn’t afford to buy it and saw this sale as a chance to try the multiplayer and re-play the campaign. While the campaign will be enjoyable, at this point I feel I may uninstall this nearly 100gb game for others, like TMCC so I can enjoy local coop and, more importantly, firefights and classic multiplayer gameplay. Hopefully someone can help clear up all of this confusion, jumping in a year after launch and they don’t do anything to help noobs get the hang of anything it seems. Poor practice as the mode selection for what should be casual multiplayer (as I figure Ranked is for more competitive players, I guess?) is pretty strict. And custom games is just a mess of like 15 variations per all these new modes I don’t care for. I’ll be fine with Slayer/Team Slayer, Oddball, a few others, and of course, FIREFIGHT. Anyways I’ve rambled and ranted. Please just be patient, I’m new to this game’s online and am coming mainly off of Halo 2 Anniversary is the most recent game I’ve played (I have played all Numbered and a few spin-offs though. Just the last one I played before jumping into this).
No warzone firefight is team only. Also you have to put in the code to get your warzone req bundle. You get two packs up front and then two packs a week for six weeks. H5 just takes a lot of practice and time to learn how the game works and plays. Halo is not a game you are instantly somewhat good at.
I recommend you play Campaing again in legendary, after that play Firefight Heroic some times after that, play Legendary Firefight some times, all of this is for gain practice, after that play any multiplayers games, You will gradually gain more skill
Also H5 is not a casual Halo at all. Each Halo game plays differently and H5 just plays competitively pretty much no matter what mode you play.

Welcome to Halo, man. I would definitely suggest playing at least a few campaign missions since you aren’t completely familiar with the game. If you ask me, Warzone is something that will be very frustrating for you until A) you have increased your skill set, and B) you have a nice REQ collection built up (which can take hours upon hours of online play).
Because of this I would stick mostly with campaign, custom games to get your bearings, and RANKED play (not so much social!!!). The reason I say not to play social is because you will still run into a lot of sweaty matches with players that have probably been playing a lot longer than you. If you jump in ranked, while you will still get some unbalanced games, at least some of the games you should play with gamers that are closer to your skill level.
First off welcome Yea WZ can be brutal without having any REQs to use. Other than playing through campaign, I suggest finding some friends or a Spartan Company to play with. They’ll have your back in Arena and in WZ can help pull out some power weapons or vehicles for you.
Alright, thanks everyone! Also the patience is appreciated, I’m sure some of these probably stupid or questions easily answered by looking annoy you. I’ll give it a shot and try to get better lol I was pretty good at Halo 4 mp, the main one I got to play as pre-4 was getting old by time I had good wifi, and I also practiced for a local friendly tourney at my school. Hopefully I can get to grips with the new Halo system and not suck anymore XD
if you don’t care for the (random number generator) req system, you won’t be good at h5. a huge part of the game is build around the req system (warzone, customization), because they want to sell the req packs.
you will see armours you like and people using OP weapons in warzone and the only way to get it is a grind or paying real money. thats why everybody says, that you have to stock up on req items, because without the right weapons, other people are just OP.
and i think you can’t even unlock everything in the game anymore without spending more money (announcer pack)
