Is ffa easier then Team slayer?

Hello guys, I’ve played halo 5 for quite some time now, but starting this Season i really wanted to get better so i started to play ffa. I got alot better and more confident in my skills since climbing up in ffa. I realised that I climbed up in ranking alot faster in ffa then in Team slayer. But to be fair i think i played alot more ffa then Team slayer. My question is what is your experience, is it really easier to climb up in ffa in ranking then in Team slayer? And how far does ffa help you to get better in Team slayer? Have a nice day

Personally I think it is easier to climb the ranks. It will help you improve your shot and tactics for 1v1 battles but I don’t think it can teAch you to play better in team games. Some people are good but can’t play as a team worth -Yoink-, just my opinion.

If only I could play FFA in Australia - can’t get a match.

Frankly I suck at team games when there’s no talk, my strategies don’t seem to match my teammates and consequently I get caught up in 2v1 or 3v1s. Invariably random team mates get random results and I would like to play FFA instead but alas no. Observations of skills that FFA may help in other game types

. Map positioning for Power Weapons and Power Ups
. Coping with bad spawns

. 1v1 engagements
. Recovery from firefights and learning to anticipate other players coming in for leaching kills
. Map hot zones, controlling and exploiting clean up kills
. Psychology - really it’s just up to you

Team games, at an appropriate level, require coordination and communication. FFA builds core shooting and some map strategy but role based team attack and defend objective strategies are completely different.

I make no observations about ranking up - you still need to win, or place well and sometimes if you are getting crap team mates like I seem to FFA can be a liberating opportunity.

Not necessarily. They are different skills and 1 v 1 battles are a rarity in ffa. It is a completely different mindset and skillset. Having teammates to team shot is very different from every player trying to kill you or steal your kills. Bad spawns and poor luck are also more likely in ffa.

On the easier to rank up idea, it is true in theory. But in practice it depends wholly on servers and to some extent spawn luck. As a uk onyx 1752 ffa player i can tell yiu that there is a drastic difference in playing eu players to us players. Against us players on their servers shots register late if at all and this can be crucial. If you want to do well at ffa make sure you play at peak time for your servers. In slayer you have people to help teamshot which helps take this away a little bit as they can help you. In ffa shots not registering makes it easier to lose 1 v 1 or get a kill stolen. So on poor servers ffa may even be harder. Something to think about…

Depends for me I feel that FFA is just clean up kills 85% of the time. You say its good for 1v1 but if you have half shield and I’m full that’s not 1v1. That’s clean up kill. So if anything playing constant FFA matches would teach you how to move around unnoticed. But I think that team slayer is harder.
