Is fall damage in or out??!

A couple of weeks ago an article says that it was confirmed to be out and it was reported in these forums.

But then in the forge RTX footage we see a player dying after jumping onto the grass from a higher platform, a “volume” is then added to the landing area and invincibility is activated to stop him dying when he lands.

So, I’m confused, is it in or out?

I think its in.

Ugh… I f@cking hate fall damage

Fall damage is in, I believe, but it’s not as sensitive as it is in Reach.

This.

FALL DAMAGE IS IN HALO 4. And it has more advantages than disadvantages. Games are pretty ‘noobish’ without fall damage.

No its not! where in God’s name did you find this information

I wish it could be toggled in customs. But alas 343 has decided that that fall damage is in.

watch the halo 4 forge video, the long one. at one of the demonstrations, he jumps off a really high platform and hits the ground and dies. he puts an invulnerable zone there and jumps again and lands it fine.

-343i confirmed it.
-It was in the forge demo.
-It was in the clips in multiplayer.

Trait zones should help with that.

It is, which I’m excited about. I love fall damage!

Halo 4 does have fall damage. Made a typo before.

> Halo 4 doesn’t have fall damage.

It does. We saw footage of it, and people who played it confirmed that there was.

> Fall damage is in, I believe, but it’s not as sensitive as it is in Reach.

This. I love it!

I hate Fall Damage. however, it makes sense for every point of view and if it’s not as sensitive as Reach’s, I’ll definitely live with Fall Damage.

There is fall damage, but it seems more “all or nothing” than it did in Reach. You’re not going to be losing 20% of your shield from a fall it seems.

Dern, guess there’s not going to be any panic ejecting if someone skyjacks you lol…

Its in. nough said

yeah, it seems to take about a 20%-30% longer fall to hurt you in halo 4 than in reach. this is most likely product of higher jump height(which is back to its beloved halo 2/3 state, maybe even higher). of course you can effect this even more with trait zones and adding less gravity. And it is quite possible that fall damage can be toggled in custom games, however this has yet to be confirmed nor denied.

I think it out… I just saw a vid where the guy said that it was confirmed that there is no fall damage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBpOB2tMvzM&list=UUcgXyQwVxl8rMKT9__TiFfQ&index=1&feature=plcp at 1:59

Oh, you didn’t know? Yeah, most FPS games now adays have fall damage, so of course fall damage would return for Halo 4.
