Is fall damage in Halo 4 confirmed?

I posted in the other thread asking the same question, but people were too busy discussing what was good and bad about it to answer me.

I personally don’t like it. I can handle it if I can crouch when I land and thus taking no damage or stun (I don’t want the stun at all actually). Making it a skill, and not only annoying. Otherwise i don’t want it.

Well. The other thread is named “Fall Damage Removal.”

And, by reading his topic and content it seemed that Halo 4 fall damage had been conirmed and that he didn’t want it. Again “Have they confirmed fall damage?” It’s a simple question. The answer is, either yes or no.

As was stated at the Beginning of the footage, this is a work in progress all Are Subject to change. Unless, a top employee of 343i states yes or no, do not think it’s Going to happen no matter what.

Regardless, honestly I don’t know, in campaign/firefight I’d say No Stun but in the multi-player Yes Stun.

Why do ppl not want fall damage? It would make that aspect of the game completely unrealistic. Do you honestly think we should have the ability to jump from the top of Spire (or equivalent height in H4) and suffer no consequences for our stupidity?

I think it’s going back to the new armor we got at the beginning of Halo 2. “This armor is much more efficient, far more resilient”

Seeing how spartans can survive falls from space what would the height be?

Has not been confirmed, but based on the hinting of game changing sudo-perk-like options, a variety of fall damage options might be available to players.

I am anticipating a chromhounds like system. So, using Halo CE style fall damage might “cost” the least, whereas Halo 2/3 no fall damage would “cost” the most. Players would need to pick and choose what they value most. But… just speculating.

This is something I am okey with too, and when you say a “height that would kill you” I suppose you mean Spire height.

Spartans don’t survive such things without assistance.
6 used his re-entry pack to lessen the fall and the Chief rode a hunk of metal like a giant red leaf in the wind (heavy leaf mind you).

I don’t mind not taking health damamge, but from certain heights, if a player doesn’t coushin their fall, they should at least take shield damage and a stun. The amount of damage is variable from the moment stun is activated for the drop.
After that, yes a certain height just outright kills the player, but perhaps with a bit of a buffer just beyond the moment shields drop from full to complete death, about 2-4m worth of grace.

But Spartans always seem to drown in water that’s only 6 feet deep… I wonder if they will change that.

I don’t care if there is fall damage, but I really wish there was an option to turn on and off fall damage in custom games.

No, there’s not even any evidence saying that it’s in the game. The other thread was saying remove it as in it was in Reach and shouldn’t be in Halo 4.

I think that we should, at the very least, have the gametype option of fall damage (and to what degree). By default, I’m going to suppose that we won’t have fall damage.

Fall damage is what balances the jet pack in Reach, according to Bungie.

Most likely it won’t be in.

Kind of sad to see it go if it does.

I know people enjoy their shortcuts and what not, but I feel the risk of taking those big jumps below should be a factor for those who are not careful or decide to go down in a hurry.

more fun w/o fall damage but okay if it’s from a ‘realistic for spartan’ height. Like from top of sphere you would lose health but not die, like the height MC fell from in H3.
