Im just wondering, because different retailers give different skins and stuff. are they strictly limited to those retails or are they unlockable ingame? I would like to think that everything is unlock-able in game and doesn’t matter who you choose to get a preorder from.

Any pre-order bonuses will be unlockable in game via the REQ system.
Pre-Ordering simply grants the buyer access to said bonus on day one.

They’re just early unlocks for those pre-ordering. Not exclusive unlocks. Josh Holmes said that on Twitter if I recall well.
Well there is a emblem that is exclusive to the Halo 5 xbox. That you will not be able to get from anywhere else. But the armor you can unlock

Ahh, because when i saw the energy bayonette (excuse spelling) on the assault rifle, kinda got me worried it was an exclusive skin/add on
343 claimed it’ll all be unlockable, but they said the same thing about Halo 4, and that was absolutely not true. So, we’ll see.
Lockes armor, chiefs visor and lockes visor are all purchase bonuses. Theres no way they will keep those exclusive. Ever.

When asked about pre-order exclusives for Halo 4, 343 specifically described the Locus and Deadeye helmet skins as just that – helmet skins. Not exclusive helmets. They elaborated that it was just the skins that were exclusive, and that the helmets -without the skins- where available in game.
This was not true.
