Is everyone still peeing their pants over this game?

Excuse me, but are you calling me naive for enjoying Halo Infinite for what it is, opposed to what it could be?

You can spout all your “what if” nonsense like 343 has a time machine to go back before the game released to bring us this stuff. Most changes with AAA games don’t happen as quickly as 343 handle them.

First impressions matter, but they don’t break the overall experience of the game. Look at GTA V for example. It’s multiplayer was delayed for a month, and when it released there was nothing you can do besides a few races and explore the map with friends. Not only that, but for the first couple of days the servers were hit so hard most people couldn’t get out of the intro to play the game in the first place. Now GTA V is one of the most played games in History.

Right. I am not applauding 343 for releasing the game in the state they did, I am applauding them for turning it around as fast as they did.

Yes Fans need to voice their opinions and say what’s broken and what not, but it has become a complete Yoink show of people pooping there pants and crying until 343 does something. The only thing that does is create a negative view of a good game for those people. Halo Infinite is fun, it is lacking still, but it is fun, and shows promise as 343 builds on it.

The store is currently selling us back armor from a game that came out in 2010. There’s no reason for entire armor set to cost more than the battle pass. Especially when that armor isn’t new.

$20 for the Hazop set is highway robbery.

That’s the only thing that bugs me about the store.

Locking legacy content behind a paywall, which could previously be earned by playing, is pretty scummy.

Especially considering this season is “heroes of reach”

Yeah. They could definitely add some of that to the battle pass.

That’s what I was hoping for. It’s disappointing that only some reach items return through the BP.

I’m really hoping that Halo 3 armors, should they return, can be earned by playing.

I’m totally OK with new items being paid.

People are already talking about how childish and toxic the Halo community is. Waypoint is not so bad, but the fact that the Reddit page had to be shut down because “fans” were sending death threats (over a videogame mind you), only brings a negative image to the game

Give it another week. We’re preoccupied with campaign. We will return to complaining shortly.

Gta 5 came out almost 10 or so years ago man, and launched with more content then this game might have for the next year, it took them a month to get a fully fledged and immersive multiplayer out and working to the public, using this as an excuse for 343 makes no sense because rockstar essentially made a miracle happen with that game, and it had almost no restrictions or need to spend money aside from buying the game. keeping people interested, making people willing to buy shark cards and help support the game.
343 have just taken a feature away from us and told us that its the future, that spending money is the funnest way to enjoy armour in halo now

This is what I’ve been arguing this whole time. 343 should have implemented Rockstars version of monetization, where in GTA V you could grind for countless hours to buy stuff in game, or buy shark cards and shortcut your way to the rewards.

EXACTLY!!! We need to be able to earn credits, even if its 10 a lose 20 a win, i will grind for hours and maybe even spend money to circumvent the grind when possible.
I want to support this game so badly, so badly, i was a halo 5 whale because it offered me ways to grind AND pay

Well my only disagreement is I don’t think we need to be able to earn credits. Because after all it is a F2P game and Infinite would be one of the first to implement this, plus it doesn’t affect my experience. Just speaking for myself of course…

I would think it would make the most sense for 343 to do this though. If they’re looking to make a 10 year game, take some examples from GTA V. That game makes billions of dollars just in shark cards alone, and you can earn currency in game. People will spend money regardless so they don’t have to grind for hours.

Every other f2p game has a system in place to allow people to earn currency without paying and just playing, this can be done with infinite too, there needs to be some way for people to access the 1000$+ trove of cosmetics they have lined up without having to spend that much.
A fix i think everyone can agree on is a system where we can buy each armour piece individually, bundles in the store offer multiple pieces at a discount, but you can always go into the store and buy what YOU want, none of this rotating store nonsense that encourages fomo spending

Twisting words around to see what you want to see doesn’t work. Please actually read what’s being said instead of just assuming. No one said you were naive for liking the game.

The other thing most players need to face is reality, and that reality is that the devs do not make the calls for the game. Upper management does and there is no way in hell I’m giving thanks to them after what they did to Halo.

“So it comes down to, are all of the things about this game making “true halo fans” mad, keeping you from having fun?” In a word, yes. These things do ruin some of the fun. I was really hoping we could have a launch that was free from this controversy, for my nephew to enjoy, who has never gotten to see a proper Halo launch. I fought tooth and nail for changes to be made that I thought would make the game a better experience, so he could see that. Well, here we are. We made some progress, but it’s bittersweet. The campaign is amazing, and I’m thankful to 343 for that. However, with multiplayer, it really isn’t fun watching my nephew’s generation be nickeled and dimed to death and having to pay $7 for the color Red. Twice. So while I’d love to crack open a champagne and celebrate with you, I don’t feel like I have the luxury. Go have fun. The game depends just as much upon you as it does upon me. I will be watching this like a hawk.

I do agree that credit earning in game is a fair argument to bettering the game. Nearly every free to play game has this. Just some way to earn in game items without having to spend a lot of money. Sure their might be exclusives that you can only get with money, but wanting something to work for is certainly reasonable when playing a game.

Still my initial argument stands, is that keeping me from having fun? not yet at least lol

It will when you realize your waiting another 6 months for new battlepass armour and events only contain about a piece each.
Really feels like they are pushing us towards the store at every given chance

Wait… I am a little confused.
Isn’t that the same thing as the grind in GTAV/ Bright Dust in Destiny/ Apex or COD premium currency in the BP?

It’s a “Grind Currency” regardless if it’s included in a BP or as Shark Cards, or Bright Dust. All of these systems work because there is a grind aspect outside of the pay aspect in terms of getting wanted content.

Edit: Now I would agree with you if you pushed the GP/MS points aspect, but even then the MS points can be used for every other FTP game out on the market.

So I can only speak for GTA, and COD (Never played Destiny, played Apex a few times).

As I understand with games like COD, Fortnite etc, the only way you can earn currency is through their battle passes. Correct me if I’m wrong. This would cap your potential earnings of credits to about 1000 or so credits per season

With GTA, their in game currency can be earned in game, by doing missions, races, etc. They don’t cap how much money you can earn in game, but you earn money at a very slow rate. Shark Cards were a means of skipping those hours of playtime so you can buy stuff in game. I think Apex is similar to this as well? Not sure tho
