I just did my placement matches for FFA and i came top 3 every game except one. I expecting onyx and got diamond 5. I was getting matched against some diamonds is when i knew i was going to place lower than last season.
Are any of you waiting for everyone else to place before you do your placement matches?
I did. I went from scrub platinum to scrub gold. Not complaining if the ranks got harder.
I typically wait a few days so the system has something to compare me too. Getting ranked on launch destroyed my K/D for a month since I was ranked too high. (I know K/D doesn’t really matter) Still trying to fix it
Placed onyx in swat after being diamond last season.
well i am still on the qualifying matches on team slayer going in solo and yes it is far more challenging
I’m hoping I go lower. I was getting destroyed in platinum as I seemed to get matched up against diamonds a lot. I’m fine staying gold and lower. Everything higher is too sweaty for me.
i might wait to do my team slayer and team arena placement matches
ya its hard
yep. they said they changed the distribution due in the last update.

Your rank doesn’t matter it’s your hidden mmr that defines what your placement will be I.e. if your mmr is under 1500 even though you where onyx the previous season you will be placed lower than onyx solely depending on what range your mmr falls into. There is several algorithms running in the background that calculate how much mmr you gain or loose per match - your teams average mmr, enemy team average mmr, how many matches you win or loose in a row, how many matches you have played, some performance stats like Kda and how you finish on the scoreboard also count towards it. Once you have played enough matches your mmr will even out. Also just to make you aware revisions don’t count towards anything they are only a visual representation of your hidden mmr.
