Is EVERY glitch actually still in the game?

I remember watching a video with David Ellis, and he was talking about how every glitch, in classic mode or in enhanced, will have the same exact glitches and tricks just like it had in 2001.

Well, what I was wondering about, did they fix any of the “annoying glitches”, like the ones that really no one wants and are just annoying.

Example: There is truthfully like a 50% chance when you get out of the Banshee you commit suicide. I played the whole campaign on Heroic back in early July to celebrate Bungies 20th, and I died around 50 times throughout the whole campaign, and around 5 of those deaths were because when I got out of ym Banshee, I instantly died. That is a glitch that was annoying, and didn’t have anything fun about it at all.

Another example is when you let go of a weapon, and it would just get stuck in the wall and go " TING TING TING CLACK CLACK TING TING TING TING CLACK TING TING CLACK TING CLACK CLACK CLACK TING TING TING CLACK TING TING" Nonstop. It was very annoying, and I highly doubt anyone would be pissed if it was fixed, because it honestly was just irritating.

So is there any word on that sort of stuff?

I think the Banshee is from the ever-so-slight collision kills caused by vehicles, and the stuck objects I think is only on the 360. That’s the only time I encountered it.

Well the one where you die from getting out of a banshee isn’t really a glitch, it’s just how the game responds when you get hit by a vehicle or by other means while it’s still in motion. It’s just that it has a more punishable hit detection then in other Halo titles.
It’s pretty easy to avoid it in a banshee because all you have to do is when you hit x to get out of the banshee, make sure it is always in a forward motion. So just keep the left analog stick forward and then press x. It works everytime I do it.

Theorectically, everything is the same. That said, the 16:9aspect ratio might throw off certain things that one would have to do to cause one of the deliberate glitches.

I think they said something about keeping the “funny” glitches, so maybe those annoying game-breaking ones are being eliminated

That’s not a glitch, that’s you trying to hop out of a moving vehicle in such a way that it’ll crush you. I almost never get killed by vehicle exits, and when I do, it’s almost always because I’m trying to break the game by abusing bumping and the like.

Yes, banshees can crush you upon exit, but it’s very easy to vector them so that they don’t. Occasionally if you’re landing in some rather weird areas you might have to think about it before making the leap, but that just makes it a little more interesting.

Hmm. I personally don’t find it irritating at all; it happens infrequently enough that I mostly just think it’s amusing.

Are you kidding? It happens every level I play on, and I use Turtle Beaches when I play, and it is loud, and annoying as -Yoink-.

And with The Banshee, That shouldn’t happen. There should NEVER be a chance that I kill myself when I get out of my own vehicle, no matter what way I’m looking.

> Are you kidding? It happens every level I play on, and I use Turtle Beaches when I play, and it is loud, and annoying as Yoink!.

It’s only loud if you’re right next to it, the sound cuts off rapidly over a distance.

And if it’s that annoying, most of the time you can usually stop the gun by picking it up or something.

> And with The Banshee, That shouldn’t happen. There should NEVER be a chance that I kill myself when I get out of my own vehicle, no matter what way I’m looking.

I really don’t see the issue. If I hop out of a hog in Halo 3 that’s sitting over a cliff and I fall to my death, I don’t blame the game. Same deal with Halo 1; if I get out of a banshee such that it will roll backwards on me, or sandwich me into a wall, that isn’t the games’ fault. Just stop and think for a moment before hopping out of a moving aircraft.

I wish they would fix the Marines’ AI to minimize friendly fire incidents.

Getting the back of my head shot off by a sniper round, or watching Marines throw grenades at each other is funny the first time, but only the first time. And of course, getting squished by a Marine piloted Ghost gets old quick too.

I wouldn’t think so. They said that they wanted to keep the game as close to the original as possible. It runs off of the same code as the original did. Also, fixing glitches can sometimes result in other glitches. This might have been to big of a risk with not a large enough profit. The gun will stop making noise as you get further away. Simple fix. As far as the banshee suicide, I really doubt it will be changed. It’s a gameplay element and they wanted to keep the gameplay exactly the same. If they changed that, then it wouldn’t be the same.

This is basically what I was going to say. The only glitch in the OP is the weapon one, and that’s not annoying at all.

Well you clearly don’t know the glitch then, because you can’t pick up the weapon once its in the wall…

How is that relevant at all? How is falling off a cliff the same thing as getting out of my Banshee, at the location IM SUPPOSED TO LAND, and committing suicide is my fault? Its not rolling backwards on me, its when i get out of the Banshee, If you touch it you die, If they edited the coordinates on where you become a bipd again, the glitch wouldn’t exist. Its such an easy fix. I don’t know why you people are defending it saying its my fault that the Banshee touches me when I get out of it.

> Well you clearly don’t know the glitch then, because you can’t pick up the weapon once its in the wall…

Hmm. I could be misremembering, and I haven’t actually tried to end the glitch in a long time, as I find it rather amusing and fun, but I thought that if the weapon was reachable, you could stop it; Halo 1 does of course not take walls into account with other prompts, such as vehicle entry. In some cases the weapon isn’t reachable, of course.

If touching it kills you, it means it’s moving in your direction, and is thus falling back on you.

It is your fault. You did not adjust your heading and velocity with the appropriate level of care that one should take when bailing out of a moving, 2-ton piece of purple metal.

> I wish they would fix the Marines’ AI to minimize friendly fire incidents.

I still find it hilarious when an infection form jumps on a marine and every other marine immediately blows him away and then they blame the person who killed him. Though yes it’s very annoying when I’m going toe to toe with an Elite and some -Yoink- decides to throw a grenade and blows up the Elite along with me.

> It is your fault. You did not adjust your heading and velocity with the appropriate level of care that one should take when bailing out of a moving, 2-ton piece of purple metal.

I should not have to do all of these calculations to see what angle my slope Is on, and if that slope is is enough to effect the mass on the Banshee when I get out of it at exactly 2 MPH. Its a glitch. Why would you think Bungie would want you to die from exiting a vehicle? Even if Im going as slow as possible, I can still end up dieing.

And no, that gun glitch isn’t fun either. How could you find that fun? Honestly?

It’s when a gun gets stuck in level geometry, spins around, and bangs into a whole lot of nothing. I find it a hilarious quirk.

Halo CEA will be shipping with all the glitches that was in the shipping version of the original Halo CE, for nostalgia and perfect-engine-replica purposes (i.e. lulz). Glitches like bad AI, bad collision, were due to the tech back then. You will essentially be playing the same game as you did ten years ago, so if you don’t like Halo CE’s ten year old engine, don’t play it.

Deal with it.

If the glitches and all those easter eggs been in CE for 10 years, im sure they are still exactly where they been…only more updatedin graphics wise.

It looks like 343 have been good enough to include new glitches too like this new see through shotgun. You have to love a company that goes all out like that

Still no confirmation so we have speculate

BUT… what if i find the banshee betrayel funny.
