Is DLC region specific?

I cant seem to find this answer anywhere. So I thought maybe someone here would know.

Are Halo Reach Anniversary Map Pack codes region specific?
I’m in the US can i use a code from the UK?

I bought halo reach on day of release but through lots of use and the fact I have a bad habit of leaving my discs around, it became scratched and at times wouldnt load.
At around the same time a friend of mine from USA bought halo anniversary, which came with a DLC card for the entire halo reach game. I bought it from him and it worked fine.
I should imagine that DLC and game codes ‘mostly’ will work, however for my birthday this year a friend from America bought me 1600msp which too worked on my UK account.
Later when I had to pay for the halo reach game I went to ebay to find a 1600msp points card only to find that they are region specific.
Long and short of it is it may depend on the DLC code itself. I have had US msp’s work and DLC games that doesnt mean to say they will work for you too, but I should guess the possibility may be quite high in your favour.

I also may add that another friend from USA gave me the game stop pre-order multi threat chest which to worked on my UK registered account.

Further more if it is something a friend of yours is giving you, if you type the code in and it turns out you carnt download it, the code will not have been redeemed so no harm done. All you can do is try and if its something you have bought just stick it on ebay and get your money back, win - win. Good luck.

Most people say.

DLC Codes are not region specific
Microsoft Points are region specific
“SomeTimes” DLC is region specific

But you should be able to use a code from anywhere and it will download the DLC specific to your region.

You should be able to since I got a code for the Noble 6 avatar helmet from a guy in the US and it worked.
