Is desync being fixed soon?

Is desynchronization getting fixed soon? My opinion is that it is a game breaking bug…

I am constantly experienced issues with desync and lag, but recently I’ve been getting 100% packet loss for the first time ever. Although the issue temporarily resolved itself for a couple of days, it has since returned, rendering the game unplayable. What is frustrating though, the game was never truly playable in the first place.

it hasn’t always felt this bad, I hadn’t been on in a few weeks but since I hopped on this event last week and have played three times since, I can’t get past a round or two - unplayably laggy.

Lag will never completely go away, they can only improve on it so it doesn’t effect games as much.

@TotalTeeto117 glad to see I’m always on you mind, love you too :kissing_heart:

It is very frustrating. MCC feels like a crisp modern game and Infinite feels like maybe two generations behind as far as controls and lag. I’m guessing it’s something baked into the game engine or else they’d have fixed it already.

Doubt it. If it was fixable…youd think theyd patch it 13 months after release

Hopefully we get a bit of improvement with the February update.

It’s a multifactorial issue between 343 (Slipspace) and Microsoft (Xbox Live and the servers). And likely dragging knee deep in backwards compatibility with the xbox one.

If you read back through some of the older threads there are some good insights from posters.

Baby steps I’m afraid. But fingers crossed they can make some inroads for Season 3.

Desync is likely so baked into the code, that it will never be fixed.

This is why I barely play anymore.

Broken game is broken.

The overall cause of desync is much more complex and multilayered. 343i will continue improving the experience with minor updates from their end. However, the issues stems from within the Azure servers themselves and will require work from Xbox/Microsoft to fix entirely.

Maybe… but it has to be something in the game’s code that is interacting with the servers because I don’t experience anything nearly this bad with other games.

The sad thing is that Microsoft owns both; so they could fix it if they wanted to. But that would probably cost more money than they want to invest at this point. I’m sure the executives already feel like they have wasted much more money developing this game than they should have.

Just to drop in–game still plays as bad with desync as it ever has. No improvements that I think anyone can discern have been made since launch. You can roast H5 but man, at least the game worked. Doesn’t look like we will ever get that with Infinite.

They just made it worse way way worse, worse then it’s ever been omg

Everything but the campaign, art design, and sound design are substantial steps back from H5, MCC, H2A, and H4 imo.

The hit detection being a substantial downgrade from the last decade of Halo is disappointing. Infinite’s servers are still on about the same level as H2 peer-to-peer. And I’m not really trying to be mean, they’re just that inconsistent

They won’t do anything to apply any major fixes because ‘it just works’ most of the time.

well, they have been working on it and a bug this big has to be difficult to do

Personal problems, require personal solutions.

Call of duty uses a server in Toronto guess my solution even though I like the idea of halo better but if it doesn’t work anymore after this patch just because I’m not an American then guess I’m screwed aren’t I? Too bad I don’t live in Texas catered to stomping on ppl online what a great game and infrastructure

Yes, with Unreal Engine 5…

Everyone’s favorite halo games were made on the Blam! Engine

Not sure where this ultra casual take of replace everything with Unreal came from. Ive even seen this take in the Bethesda community
