I’ve been reading a lot of posts on the
“WHY DOES HALO 4’S POPULATION KEEP DESCREASING” thread
and a lot of people are saying when CSR launches with smaller 4v4 maps Halo will be back, but will it ? I mean isn’t the damage already done ?. For starters the CSR wont even be visible in game so people apart from a few of us seemingly just wont care because they cant see it.
People judge a game on how it launches from day 1 and if Halo 2 & 3 vets are already forgetting about Halo 4 (because guys I used to play halo 3 & 3 with are losing interest) where does that leave us ?. Now I know Halo 2 & 3 launched quite differently to how we remember them but then gamers hadn’t had to experience Reach or Halo 4’s cod xp ranking system, what if the damage is already done ?
I hate to be a negative nancy because I love the game at its core, the gameplays the best yet, the graphics are the best yet, the campaign was epic in my opinion but does not launching what was titled as “the return of halo” with a true skill ranking system not seem crazy ?
When people say Reach 2 are they wrong ?
Well i think it is the answer. Im tired of getting stuck in games with horrible teammates i want competitive ganeplay while ranking up. I like the game as it is but the drive to play this game is gone for other people because u can loose and still rank up. Another reason why is because of this stupid loadout crap. I want the classic ar/ pistol or the br/ar back and no aas! I just want classic halo back but 343 doesnt recognize that we want to play halo. Not call of duty halo edition

Yes for me its simply no fun. At the end of the day what am I playing for? To unlock a new helmet? Oh how awesome. I also know that anyone that plays long enough can attain that 130 rank. I see these high ranks and look at their K/D and most of the time its clear they are getting worked yet rewarded. Theres no fun in that. As you said its also horrible to get matched up with novice teammates win or lose. No fun.
Its so easy. Implement the classic ranks while also adding a social playlist. This would be a very good start and would instantly bring many back over time. I have not play H4 in 3 days. And its going to stay the way unless some of these changes are implemented.

I got tired of reading endless troll posts back in halo 3 about “you are not a 50, your opinion is invalid.”
It’s why I could care less if we have visible ranks or not. Does not affect me either way. However, the rank trolling has disappeared now, so thats good.
Ever halo game gets trolled like this. Game launches, everyone complains about the previous halo was better. next halo game launches and miraculously the previous halo that got trolled is better.
People want halo 2 back, but I am glad it is dead and buried. It was my least fav halo due to the button glitches that bungie never fixed. The single thing that drove me away from the game. (And NO it did not improve the skill gap.)
I enjoy the game does the way the launch went affect peoples decision of playing or not? Yes greatly but really i belive people are takeing it overboard.
Halo 4 is not Halo reach. are they somewhat similar? yes, it’s halo. but i think halo 4, is so far beyond reach, Halo 4 is amazing. If you don’t like it, well im sorry, but it is what it is. and i think it’s awesome.

Simply not true and you can hardly trash talk if you wanted to in this game as most stay in party chat anyways. Its a simple fix for everyone. Implement a ranking system that works and implement a social playlist. Win WIn. If you cannot handle trash talk why are you playing a game rated M? You know for “Mature Audiences”??
I think get rid of custom loadouts is the answer. . I don’t recall anyone asking for them . 343 can keep aa’s if they really want to . TP and SU (and custom loadouts) NEED TO GO !!! CSR won’t work in my opinion if they don’t implement it into the game otherwise it will just be as usefull as BPR.(And we all know how that went ). Then there’s the other fixes that need to be done like flinch removal and DMR nerf (IMO) . If all that happens then Halo 4 has the potential to be the best Halo game ever . I really hope that it can become that .

It has nothing to do with trash talk. The forums in h2 and h3 were littered with “your opinion is invalid because you are a lower rank than me.” We do not have that any more.
As far as the trash talk goes, there is nothing anyone can say to me as a grown adult that will bother me over a video game. However, why do you think the majority of halo players do not use mic’s any more?

This ^ Even though there bringing things the Whiners on the forum want and all they ask for is patiance and for them to keep checking in on the announcements page ( which from what i can see none of them do)but all they do is keep reposting the same issues and bringing down whats remaining of the community thats playing. Yes i know your opinions and problems with the game need to be heard but whats going to be the point If the game ends up dieing not because of the issues that I say again have fixes on the way but because of the communites extremely unneeded negative outlook on the entire game when Really its not as bad as they belive. I thinkg Ninja on youtube said it best its not Halo 3 or 2 its HALO 4 and the things that made halo 3 great and reaches gametype stuff are comeing but all you have to do is wait yes voice your opinions but tone it the hell down your acting like the games pure evil in the form of a disk just chill. Ive seen so many custom games posts about how creating there old fav gametypes was impossible but then when i finaly saw a post where someone who like the whiners wanted better cusom gametype options actully experimented and looked around the net instead of at the negativness of the forums actully was able to create a lot of the gametypes people wanted and what happend to the post you say ? well it got completely overshadowed by more hate posts about custom gametypes and small stuff. IDK its just crazy.

If this game was as good as it COULD be I wouldnt even be here. I would be playing. WHy do I think the majority of ppl do not use mics? Because I played the game for a week straight after I got it and most people stay in party chat. Thats not BS thats the real deal. Again if someone is belitting you over a rank take it up with a mod and they should do their job.
A underlying problem is that this game is being played by separate generations of Halo players who are comfortable in the niche they played in. For example I liked ODST’s firefight but I really played Reach’s Firefight the most. I can’t go back to a Firefight that doesn’t support EVADE or the DMR is non-existent or even worse they are there, but so watered down to cater to the H3 guys and the balance nazis making them an insult to even consider, sorta in what we have here in Halo 4. At this stage in the game they need to separate us by how we play, and It’s very easy to do.
Keep the loadouts but adjust the game types to reflect the criteria voted for. I join a match and everyone votes classic loadout. I can easily jump into my menu and make the changes to a AR/BR or MAG/AR start with no AAs so I can spawn in and play. Or I could goto a Firefight match and ramp my AAs up so I can have fun with the Ai along with other team players.
The options are there, but they are poorly used by the developer so far.
First of all, I don’t think overall K/D matters as much. I go slightly negative on average as I try to achieve commendations, challenges, etc, to rank up faster to get access to new abilities. I know I can always go to SWAT and even out or improve my K/D easily.
Secondly, I see lots of complaints about loadouts, and about the DMR. It seems like everyone wants to go back to AR spray-fests.

THIS RIGHT HERE is part of the problem. Halo used to be about strategy and teamwork and was all about winning. Now its about unlocking all this crap and so
we get teammates like you who mess around with all these challenges.
If this aspect was implemented in a social setting while also having a separate ranked playlist this would all be fine.

Again. You really think party chat is why no one is using mics? You do know that party chat and no mic are completely different icons right? I would say 90% of my 500+ matches in halo 4 have been composed of people with no mic as opposed to people with party chat icons over the name card of the players in lobby.
As well, it was not about people belittling me over my rank. It was the constant belittling of everyone who was not a 50. I stopped playing halo 2 and 3 for other reasons. However, I did frequent the forums to see if those issues were ever fixed. The majority of the posts I read were just troll posts of people belittling others because of rank.
Visable Ranks are gone. Get over it. If you dont like it move on. CSR will be visable thru way point. If thats not good enough for you to see where you stand then that is not the real reason you want ranks back.
Terrible decision to not have it available by launch. Worse still to not have it out by Xmas.
I’ve told many people NOT to buy this game. Many others will have done the same. Xmas sales will disappoint, as will the purported population spike due to Xmas. This Halo will end up having the least amount of total sales by a wide margin.
It sold decent at launch because PEOPLE WERE FOOLED. Get that through your head.

At the end of the day I don’t care if my Skill rating is view-able in game. If the CSR does it job and matches me with even;y skilled players then I shall be happy.
I personally think that if the Halo community gets it’s fair games they have been asking for then they will at least give it a try.
