Playing the last mission of Halo 3 again and this time round I paid extra attention to the detail in the game
On the last mission in the control room 343 guilty spark says to chief “You are a Forerunner and this is my installation!”
I don’t quite understand this line so could someone please give information on it?
I’ve only played the games and no doubt this is explained in the books!
It’s probably a metaphore.

S-117 is a Reclaimer, not a forerunner. But like the one before me, when 343 said “you’re forerunner” it was probably a metaphor.
I would think that to except that in Hasleys journal she mentions nothing about a John being a forerunner and I think that seems like something a person would write in a journal.

One theory is that Master chief is the descendant of a very very important forerunner called Born Stellar who was the one who triggered the activation of installation 04. But instead of fully dieing he simply put his bloodline in the human races and chief is a direct descendant hence the reason why 343 says to chief in Halo CE: " Last time you asked my if I were in this position would I do it and my answer has not changed" thinking he is really Born Stellar. And it is also the reason why 343 says: " Your are the child of my makers inheritors of all they left behind YOU ARE FORERUNNER but this ring is mine" then boom!

HAHA!! I loled so hard. But Born is meant to be the chief Born is dead but he lives in the chief DNA wise that’s why 343 Recognised him as Born because they are of the same blood line.

Well there’s certainly potential for an interesting storyline in their. But they better not overdo it…

All will be explained with the connection between humans and forerunners in Primordium and Greg Bear’s 3rd book to come.
Well, humans and Forerunners are very similar. They were both created by Precursors. Humans have technically inherited all that belonged to the Forerunners.

After reading Cryptum and the description of Primordium, I believe Spark was confusing the Chief with Chakas, who is the confirmed ancestor of the Greek Spartans and the Spartan-IIs.

OH ok thanks for that I fell like a plum :L Anyway I really cant wait for Primordium It is going to be soooooooo interesting.
Chief is a Reclaimer, so I guess Spark just mixed together Reclaimers with Forerunners. After all, he could very well have become rampant by the end of Halo 3. We already know Forerunners were not humans, and hence Chief can’t be a Forerunner.
If chief is forerunner than I’m a fruit loop. : D

I read something that Spark could just be referring to Chief as a Forerunner due to his classification as a Reclaimer. Would be a helluva revelation though and kind of would explain Chief’s “Luck” factor. Though, I’m not all for the predetermined destiny route.
He is a reclaimer.

Master Chief is not Forerunner. The Forerunners DID, however, leave an imprint on Human DNA that makes them Reclaimers, capable of upholding the Mantle. This particular imprint is probably direct Forerunner DNA, and is likely more prevalent in the Chief (And the other Spartan IIs) than it is in the other Humans. It is likely the source of that “X Factor” Halsey was looking for, Luck.
