Champions DLC launched 9 months after the release of Halo 4, and now we are slowly nearing the 2014 release date for Halo Xbox One.
Do you guys think Champions will be the last DLC for Halo 4 (with the exception of McFarlane weapon skins coming out this fall)? I think so. Why? Because apart from the gamerscore we can earn from this game already being 2000, I highly doubt that we will be getting anymore Spartan Ops, multiplayer maps, or any other content. 343i also needs time to work on other things such as Halo TV, books, HALO XBOX ONE GAME, and other media.

Probably, if only for some of the backlash that 343i is getting since Champions wasn’t under the Season Pass that a lot of the Halo 4 community bought for the last map packs. Plus, I would hope they would be focusing their efforts on just patching some bugs in the Halo 4 Multiplayer while focusing on making a great showing for Halo 5 (come on, guys; it’s obvious that the Halo Xbox One title is 5). The community’s been pretty divisive on Halo 4, and while I’m one of the people that didn’t exactly like the changes in story or gameplay that 343i brought, I do hope that they don’t run the franchise into the dirt with 5.
It’s a shame I won’t be taking part in it, since you’d have to buy me a Xbox One and Halo 5 for me to bother playing it. Microsoft killed all my interest in buying a Xbox One due to their horrendous reveal and E3 conference.
If it weren’t for the announcement of the GOTY edition, I’d be a lot more likely to say that more DLC is on the way. However, this doesn’t leave me 100% certain that we’ve seen everything yet. Borderlands 2 also recently announed their GOTY edition, but they’ve also announced further DLC after the GOTY version releases, and that isn’t included with the bundle. So, I’m 50/50 now. I’d like to see more DLC, but only if it doesn’t slow the production of the the next Halo game.
I was hoping for a new Forge environment (an environment set at night) but I seriously doubt that now. Amybe an weapon skin pack if we’re lucky.
Unless 343 start giving out more free maps, most likely, Halo 4 now comes up to 2000 gamer score in total, a Xbox games maximum limit… If they started releasing more map packs you had to pay for without achievements, so many people would complain, especially this community, I’ve never seen a community that complains so much as the Halo community! Hahaha
