Just trying to get some splatters for the weekly ultimate and despite the game telling me the wait for BTB should be around 30 sec, I can’t get into games. I spent ages waiting for games and had some time out. I did successfully join a couple but they were both in progress when I joined. Had another one where my loading screen never went away and I had to restart the game (thought that bug had been fixed months ago). Now I can’t get in to any at all and I’ve been trying over multiple hours.
I’m in Australia so there isn’t heaps of players but it’s a Sunday afternoon and BTB is usually reasonably well populated. I can play Quick Play so the servers are working.

Matchmaking as a whole is broken. 
In the past it was about winning the game. But now its about how you win the game which isn’t fun in the slightest bit.

This past week I found search times to be considerably higher than usual. This was for ranked so I’m not entirely sure about BTB.

Since matchmaking got very little new content in the December drop pod, I imagine a ton of people are in the CGB. The BTB and CGB audiences have always had a pretty big overlap, so I wouldn’t be surprised if BTB is pretty empty outside of absolute peak play hours.
I also imagine there’s a lot of BTB players like myself who are kind of fed up with the vehicle imbalance between teams. I quit out of three or four BTB games last week when my team was losing and the other team received TWO tanks in back-to-back vehicle drops while we got a chopper and a rocket hog.

Isn’t that the truth. BTB really has been unloved compared to 4v4 since launch.
Hadn’t really thought much about the overlap between BTB and the custom games crowd but it does sound logical. Still frustrating that the “estimated wait” isn’t reflecting that at all if it is the case.
