Why is Halo 4 not coming 'till November? From what I’ve read, 343 are already in beta testing, and they aren’t taking the time to do an open beta. I don’t think they have enough work left to do on the game to take them 'till November to finish it. What are they going to do during the extra 2 months? Do they have something up their sleeves or something? Please don’t tell me I’m the only one bothered by this.
I thought everybody already assumed months ago that it would be coming out on November.
Halo will retake November and CoD will have to find a new month.
I would rather them take their time and release a “Halo 3” then rush and release a “Halo Reach” you get me?
It’s nice to have this “advantage” over cod" but it seems childish when you think about itWhy does the game really need to be released in November? and I’m only saying this because I want my Halo’s sooner.
The longer it takes the better quality the final game will be. I would be willing to wait another year if it makes the final game even better.

Arguably the best commit I’ve ever seen on this forum.
Everyone thank this man.

Couldn’t agree more
> I would rather them take their time and release a “Halo 3” then rush and release a “Halo Reach” you get me?
Agreed
There’s a Neil Davidge interview where he claims they haven’t even started doing the cinematics yet.
> I would rather them take their time and release a “Halo 3” then rush and release a “Halo Reach” you get me?
No, I don’t. 'Cause I don’t think Reach is bad.
Also, They’re not having an open beta. It doesn’t matter how long they take to make the game, without an open beta, it will have problems on launch day and have to get fixed anyway. It’s kind of irrelevant how long they take.
They want to make sure they have it done right.

Your standards for “commits,” are depressingly low.
And it’s not an “extra two months.” It’s scheduled to release November 6. That’s the schedule and they have a deadline to meet for finishing the game and then making copies of it.
I’m cool. More time for them to polish the heck out of it.

Not true at all. These days Open betas are a marketing ploy, the only testing that really happens is network testing.
Hell, the version of Halo Reach’s beta was old when we got to even touch it. The longer a game is in development with and with out a beta will mean better the game will be in the end. Also, Reach had problems on launch day. Not all games have open betas, and out of those games, not all of them had problems on release day. 343i is doing an inturnal beta, which is better because they’re dealing with a smaller group of people, people who are TESTING, not PLAYING, and when they give feed back, they don’t go “OMG THIS WEAPON IS SUPER OP, I HATE IT BLAH BLAH BLAH!”
i would much rather have them release it in december so they can put a beta out
The last thing I want them to do is rush the damn thing. November is fine for me,
I don’t know where you got the impression that they are ahead of schedule, OP. From what I have read they are working very hard and will continue to do so in order to bring us the best game possible.

I’m sure that in the projected development plan, they didn’t add an extra 2 months. If they do, it would be reported as they “]pushed the release date”

It was never coming out in September. I’m just speculating here, but CEA released on Nov. 15, meaning it would be significantly less than a year from release to release. Plus, they withheld info on the game for so long, that it implied a late release date.
Also, “Holiday” always means November or December.
