There are moments in MP where I miss them. Mostly when taking out a sweaty camper or friends in customs. Currently a single -Yoink!- and educational smack does suffice.
In the campaign they were nice when taking out big targets but I didnāt care much for them being active on grunts and jackals.
Donāt doubt they will return, but Iām afraid it wonāt be without FOMO/MTX 
In campaign I can live without them but in multiplayer I would love them back because they were always a nice extra taunt for your enemy leaving themselves open to being assassinated. Of course there were times where I accidentally locked myself in because I held the button too long or the game registered my melee funky but in the end I donāt dip into ranked enough to be too concerned about how good Iām playing so its all for laughs in the end.
I donāt think any of those are good poll options, but I do love assassinations, and if they make your Battle Pass XP based on your medals, you would get more XP for a fully completed assassination animation without getting killed out of it, than you would for a back smack, so I would like that personally, since I was a Wetwork Venator in 4, and still go for Ninja medals and back smacks in Infinite. Iād like them added as an optional toggle like before, so people can just use back smack if they donāt want to assassinate.
Iām driving at the fact why people complained about assassinations to this day, doesnāt make sense to me. I am still quite bitter about it so forgive me.
Personally I think that a bash from behind should do a bit more damage than from the front but shouldnāt be an instant kill, and assassinations should be fast but fatal.
But I will admit Iām not all that wrapped up in how they should work in MP, mostly I just want them to appear in campaign.
What poll options would you have liked to see?

I personally just loved the combat flow in Reach, Iāve always been more of a campaign guy than a MP guy, and I just LOVED sprinting around and assassinating elites and whatnot (or the few times I actually successfully assassinated brutes, LOVE that system.) It really gave me a sense of the Spartanās hand to hand combat abilities and made it feel more immersive to me.

Idea to make assassination work :
1 assassination only possible when you are crouched, it bring a little more difficultie to assassinate and it avoid player to confuse with a simple punch
2 Assassination faster to expose less time the assassin and donāt slow down the pace of the game
theyāre being worked on. i remember a video vod a while back, canāt remember which, where 343 stated that theyāl be implemented post launch because theyāre trying to figure out how to better incorporate them into haloā¦
like what? that makes no sense and in my eyes just sounds like āweāre trying to find a way to overly monetize themā like halo Reachās assasinations were perfect, being based on where you back smacked the dude. holding the melee button did the animation, whiles just pressing it did the regular back smack. easy. makes sense, past games did it. they were quick whiles also giving a small time frame for the teamates to save the player
Iām not missing assassinations. Iām missing my radar. Thereās always a certain kind of player that loves running up behind another dude and pushing their $h1t in. I, on the other hand, am the kind of guy that likes to kill those players.
Can I please have my radar back so I can better accomplish that?
Honestly there was points in game that wouldāve been amazing clips if assassinations were enabled. Other day my wasp was exploding so i hopped out and landed right on top of a enemy and only did a backsmack and i said out loud āman that wouldve been awesomeā¦ā Really missing them 
Iām probably of a minority but I really couldnāt care less about Assassinations, theyāre cool but makes you vulnerable to enemy players on the map
I got abused by a teammate in Warzone because I shotgunned the guy he was Assassinating I only did it because he was he was going to get jumped by 3 players trying to Re-capture the Armoury
I kind of like the absence of the assassinations, at least in MP.
It makes gameplay faster for me when killing and when getting assassinated I dont have to watch the animation and maybe further delay my respawn. To me it also seems even more badass how spartans just kill of their targets without any fuzz.
If we are talking about campaign, they might be cool. However the charged grappling hook is almost like an assassination ; )
But everything considered I am surprised that I dont miss them and kind of like it not to have them.
I do miss them in campaign and I hope that they add them back. In PvP I go back and fourth on my opinion. Sometimes I miss pulling one off on another player, but other times I am happy with a back smack and keep moving. A toggle for PvP would be great, so we can decide when to use them.
I really do hope they bring them back their extremely fun and satisfying to do especially the messages that follow afterš¤£
They are definitely a fun little thing in the game and itāll be nice when theyāre added back in. I just hope itāll be easy to not perform them. Canāt tell you how many times I was just going for a plain old backsmack that ended up going into an assassination animation that gets me killed or my kill stolen.
This is what they did in Gears 5 with executions.
Everyone got the basic ones for free and the rest were sold in the store.
Understandable with the current path gaming is going.
The ones in Gears 5 were also unlockable just by playing the game thoughā¦so, hopefully 343i doesnāt make the mistake of making them pay only.

Lol Iām perfectly aware that 343 has claimed that theyāre planning on adding them back in. Iām making a thread here to see how many others are missing them, clearly many are. It is quite apparent that we canāt always trust 343 to follow up on promises, so bringing it up here is fully what these forums are for. If you donāt like the thread, you arenāt required to read or comment on it.
They could do as theyāve always done (since reach) and just allow both backsmacks and assassinations if you hold the button for an extra split second. Iām also ok with it being opt in on the control scheme only, or maybe just remove it from ranked.
