Is anyone else getting kinda bored with infinite already?

I stopped after 4 days too. The “juice” sound associated with every headshot & multi-kill becomes overwhelming after a certain point. Even the cutesy “thump” sound associated with every single kill does not align with Halo’s theme of fiercely striking down foes in the name of self-defense. I tried my best to turn those kill confirmation sound effects down but there’s simply no practical way.

Haha, that’s a funny story. Your nephew sounds cool. This isn’t your dad’s halo, this is Forthalo! Your dad’s Halo was rated M for mature but in this Halo the AI companion constantly compliments you for staying alive for more than 3 seconds.

Halo 5 was so much fun. It had breakout. Warzone. A lot of custom game options on launch.

Infinite. Is just not fun.

It also had for more custom game options. Breakout and warzone were also exclusive to Halo 5.

Halo infinite just has nothing in it. Even if you add modes it won’t have half of what Halo 5 had and Halo 5 was considered bare at launch so imagine infinite

Yep and zero new maps till at least may. Smh

I’ve been saying the same thing. I can load up Halo 5 forge and create all of the maps from infinite and remove the abilites and it’ll play just like infinite. Halo 5 even has the Halo 2 br to boot.

There is no experience I can get in infinite that I can’t already get in any other Halo.

It’s always been in the game since the beginning of Halo 5. It won’t go away.

There has never been an unranked playlist. Your rank is just hidden in the " unranked" playlist

Halo 5 was a tumble weed, Infinite is the desert lol

343i made the same mistake as Halo 5: releasing a bare-bones MP, with no Forge (but now also BROKEN CUSTOM GAMES!), and an abysmal playlist selection. Loved the campaign, but have no desire to try Legendary for a while. I expect a massive drop-off (if it hasn’t already occured). All of my friends have stopped playing. I was playing, but need to get slayer to finish my challenges (guess what I haven’t been able to get the last few games?). Got total control, two teammates quit in the beginning and weren’t replaced. We got crushed.

Tried to play, but kept getting joining and connection errors. Got frustrated and closed the game. This launch is WORSE than Halo 5’s.

Yeah, it’s pretty bad. Strangely, it feels like a beta.

Wait…

Yeah kinda. I thought I’d be all over it but I’ve barely been touching multiplayer lately. I have no reason to play ranked because the placement matches put me in Diamond which skipped my entire journey through ranked which was a huge factor in why I played so much Halo 3.

Furthermore, speaking of Halo 3, this game doesn’t have:

  • Co-op (huge replayability potential)
  • Armor unlocks tied to achievements (another great reason to replay or help friends)
  • Forge (kept maps fresh, made entirely new maps, catalyst for incredible custom games)
  • Customs settings are real bad for some reason, and I played thousands of Halo 3 custom games
  • Any sort of actual lobby (I guess you can go into a totally different page and view your fireteam, not the same)
  • Multiplayer theater, or good theater (Have to stream over discord instead of just viewing clips as a party, and the theater controls and features are so bad)
  • Infection, Juggernaut, Assault, and several more modes (these spawned many many alternate custom game types)
  • No playlists, just baffling
  • And I’ll say my initial opening point again, this overwatch/league of legends style ranked system where you complete placement games and get put somewhere mid-ladder is bad. The old 1-50 per playlist system in Halo 2, 3 and MCC is far superior. They could still use the Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc instead of 1-50 but you MUST start at the very bottom and work your way up, it creates longevity and a reason to keep going. Why bother if I played 10 games and got placed at the top already?

So yeah, due to all of the above not being in this game, it’s getting fairly boring and much faster than I thought. The gameplay alone isn’t perfect enough on its own, due to player collision, outlines, bad horrible terrible vehicle physics and everything counters them, no variety, and more.
Hopefully in a year the game will be finished. I’m not quitting it, but I’m barely playing and I won’t buy a single thing until I can color my spartan however I want like always before, and the majority of complaints are addressed.

I would have enjoyed it more if it was a desert biome though haha

343i has introduced a new industry standard.
They are calling it the “post release beta”, not to be confused with an unfinished product.

everyone’s gunna bring up how ‘come tomorrow, there’l be more modes. so it fixes it!’
and to that i say… no… even with a regular, slayer, swat, and fiesta… that’s like nothing. i’m actually legit better off playing mcc. at least that has more gamemode options. or even call of duty.
mcc has both a individual swat and slayer playlists. oh and fiesta in action sac, which is actually more fun than infinite’s. heck, h5 had a better fiesta. oh and mcc has much more fun challenges and a actual progression system to complete.
infinite really offers nothing new, nor a incentive to return and keep playing. at the moment is just a waste of space on my hard drive. everything in it is unfinished… thus boring and unfun.
if you tolerate infinite, good for you. most just don’t right now

I wish I could enjoy it like other people do, but nothing about it grabs me. I feel like I should go play it, but the campaign was just boring AF to me. MP is a mess. I may just download 5 and see if it was as bad as I remember haha.

haha, same though… like it feels like i have to force myself to play the game… but even then, i just end up sitting in the main menu as i don’t want to que for anything

Definitely getting tired of people leaving games. Definitely tired of the challenges that still detract from actual gameplay. Definitely getting tired of disconnects and failed matchmaking.

I know the devs are on leave for the holidays, but sheesh. It feels like it’s getting worse by the day. Hopefully they can incorporate server maintenance scheduling and better challenges.

It dropped off by about 40%-50% since week one, which is honestly expected for any new title. Honeymoon phases generally only last a week.

It’s still attracting 100k-140k players on Steam alone, which is huge compared to other titles that dropped the same week (BF dropped from 160k to barely 50k and steadily dropping, didn’t even hit 20k today).

I’ve personally been on hiatus and haven’t been playing anything due to catching Covid, but I can’t wait to log back on and start playing again.

Forced crossplay killed it for me. No point in playing.

We don’t have aim assist either on PC.
