dude you have your lore alllll messed up. Where did Bungie ever say forerunners were ancient humans? 343 is going off of what Bungie left them. The covenant didn’t attack us because they though we were forerunners, they attacked us because we were intruding on the so called “religious” halos that they believed was the passage way to their heaven. The covenant we fight in Halo 4 is actually the Storm Covenant, which is a faction of the covenant (which have a truce with the humans) commanded by Jul Mdama. Only humans can activate forerunner tech because we were destined to hold the mantle. We are their descendents. And the precursors were made by Bungie, not 343. They came even before the forerunners and humans. The forerunners eliminated them in a war, but some escaped to unknown locations (it is believed that the flood is actually a form of the precursors).

Now to get on with this. That line spark said wasn’t true. He has been in service for a long time and among other things. He was malfunctioning. Forunner was never human. Or related. Halo 4-6 is exploring chief as a PERSON. 343 said this. It is odd but not wrong and doesn’t break cannon. halo 1-3 was about the war not the chief. 5-6 is about the chief. The rest i don’t understand what your saying.

I’m honestly not that worried at all.
It is true that Bungie originally intended for the human race to be the remnants of the Forerunners, but I’m totally cool with their new spin on the Halo universe because it doesn’t retcon established canon, for one, and for two, they do have a dedicated team of lore buffs / writers who have access to, and in some cases wrote sections of the Halo Bible, the extensive catalog of established Halo Canon which, if I may gently remind you, you do not have access to.
It’s understandable that you may be frustrated, even angry, because changes in Halo 4 seem to contradict the canon established in Halo 3. It’s not that easy to condone that same rage if it’s not backed up by solid evidence, as those before me have pointed out quite reasonably.
Also, I’m not very inclined to take your ostensible expertise on Halo lore very seriously if you can’t get the words Forerunner and Covenant right. Sorry 
Didn’t the Covenant attack humanity because Mendicant Bias marked them as Reclaimers on Harvest and Truth didn’t want the Covenant to split and make him lose power?
And didn’t the Halo 3 Terminals, in the conversations between the Librarian and the Didact, the Librarian stated that humanity was a different race from the Forerunners?

Bungie originally intended for the Forerunners to be humans, that much is true. What you’ve got wrong is that 343 are the ones who made them alien. During the course of Halo 3’s development Bungie changed their mind (they’ve confirmed this, I’ll see if I can find a source), as such, the Terminals in Halo 3 confirmed that the two species were different. 343’s new canon has brought the two a little closer once more, with the introduction of the Ancient human civilization and the suggestions of a shared origin.

Fairly certain your thesis is wrong. Forerunners were never intended to be ancient humans.
HOWEVER, I can see how such a misunderstanding can happen.
IMO the canon has been more difficult to follow since 343 took over. This isn’t a bad thing necessarily, but it is challenging.
I find it difficult to place many of the other story archs (K5, Forerunner trilogy, Ops, Domain Terminals) into the existing canonical timeline. My hope is that H5/6 will do as much to tie up loose ends as it does explore the Chief as a character.
Meh, frankly I’m liking where 343 is taking this and the spin they put on the forerunner and human origins.

I find it so ironic how you yell at 343 for not knowing anything about the lore, yet this post proves that you know jack squat about it yourself.

Wow, this line is a failure and… fixed. The Covenant ruled by Truth did attack the humans because he thought they were forerunners left behind, and this idea would destroy the whole point of the Covenant’s believes. Then the oracle explained to Truth that humans weren’t forerunners but the right inheritors of the Forerunners legacy.
Truth used this information to his own gain since he could detect humans with forerunner technology as “relics” but instead he tricked the whole covenant telling them humans were there to destroy any trace of Forerunner’s legacy.
