Is anyone else concerned about arena?i

i am interested to know if anyone else is worried about arena. With all the hype and attention warzone is getting I wonder if 343 is trying to divert attention

Or they are just showing off a new, ambitious mode after giving most of their attention to the Arena during the beta. Not everything has to be an insidious plot.

I actually am seeing it is a common marketing tactic to cover “bad” stuff up with new “good” stuff.

Read some sources and think about what you’re saying man, they just announced a new game type at E3 and they’ve done several interviews in different forums answering questions about Warzone/Campaign/Arena and other questions. They have even said they will talk more about the competitive Halo 5 scene this summer. I am frustrated cuz you come off like you think you’ve read or payed attention but you obviously aren’t seeing the big picture. I think you posting this stuff feeds this whole cycle that seems to just keep going on and on man.

They had a -yoinking- arena multiplayer beta earlier this year, this is dumb. Your guys’ train of thought is jaded or convoluted, idk if you’re following trends or if you really think like this or what but you guys are going to be -yoinked- in life if you apply this reasoning in any other arena other than something like these forums.

I’m not even the slightest bit concerned. I loveeeeed arena. Especially breakout. LOVED it. I’m going to play it immediately. Depending on how well I do, I may stay in MP, or I’ll jump in campaign for a few hours, but you can bet your -Yoink-, I’m not going to work October 27th, or 28th. At least.

Well it is true they showed some arena im still concerned for it. Where is FFA,BTB etc ?

I think arena could turn out pretty good honestly. I am also excited for Gamescom to see if they will have Arena and HCS info.

Having already explained, shown AND allowed us to try Arena, i think you’re overreacting a bit.

Warzone is something NEW to Halo, Arena? Not exactly new. We all know what we get from arena. Warzone is the kicker, the seller for both hardcore and casual players of Halo.

Don’t worry. 343 will take good care of Arena.

This here, relax OP. When there is something new they are going to show it off, they will not deter from delivering on arena .

I’m with you on that part. These people think that just because a beta for arena came earlier this year, we shouldn’t be worried about it even though we didn’t get the greatest impression. Personally, I am worried for how the arena multiplayer is gonna turn out also. But I feel your reasoning for why you are doubtful for the gamemode is not necessarily about the arena gameplay but more about 343’s news outlets and their way of marketing the game for us. We should still wait for more information regarding arena, considering how our opinions of it are 6 months dated.

Arena is going to be fantastic, with a proper ranking system finally, dedicated servers guaranteed for every match and no JIP, as well as a balanced weapon sandbox, map power weapon control, well designed roster of maps, breakout as a new and exciting elimination style competitive mode (the success of counter strike), and new but classic halo gameplay, Arena is going to be the best competitive iteration of Halo we’ve ever seen.

I’m going to try out Warzone for sure, but Arena is where it’s at. It’s the bread and butter.

What does this even mean? If you didn’t like the beta, you aren’t going to like Arena in the full game because it is going to be 90% the same experience.

People are responding negatively because OP is insinuating that 343i is “hiding Arena” for some nefarious reason. That doesn’t make any sense because we already played H5 Arena for an entire month earlier this year and from basically November to the end of January, marketing and buzz about H5 was all about Arena. Obviously since they just announced Warzone, the attention is now elsewhere.

We got a blog on the major changes they were going to make (e.g., faster base movement speed to lessen the importance of sprint, no automatic headshot damage, faster sniper scope, etc.) and other than that, Halo 5 Arena MP is gonna be pretty damn similar to the beta. We saw recent footage of Arena when the crew from Silicon Valley played it on the Conan O’Brien Show and it looked just like the beta w/ the aforementioned tweaks.

So again, there’s no reason to worry about Arena unless you didn’t like the core gameplay of the beta, in which case you’re SOL because that’s what you’re getting in the final game.

You should put
mic dropped
At the end of your post. Just sayin

@LuGer33 you hit that spot on just didn’t wanna quote all that text, Arena is a core component they aren’t gonna falter there.

Your second sentence was the exact point I was trying to make. Apologies for my atrocious wording.
I agree with your skepticism regarding OP’s reasoning behind his worriment of arena. Even I acknowledged this fact. But even with the changes 343 made which you pointed out, the arena gameplay may not be as great as the games within the mcc. I did actually enjoy the beta, but it seems that the skillgap reduction is fairly noticeable and it kinda stinks. This is the reason why I’m worried for the beta regarding the core gameplay, not because of 343’s choices in reveals of different parts of halo 5. I’m not gonna refuse to buy the game simply because arena isn’t what I consider to be the most demanding in terms of skill. In fact, that might prove for the better of me considering that high school will significantly reduce my playtime and I might not be able to master the game as much as anyone else. But that’s what I think regarding arena, not in halo 5 as a whole, even though there are definitely tweaks to be made. We all have o wait and see for ourselves the final product.

Didn’t they also do a game informer article on starts, weapon spawning, weapon tiers, and arena map design?

Yes. Obviously. Its pretty terrible.
