I think Halo:Reach is a pretty decent game. (IMO it’s the worst Halo though apart from Halo:Wars) Anyway I’ve been an Inheritor for a few months now and I just…don’t want to play the game any more. Reach has become stale and repetitive so now I mostly play other games and Halo 3. Anybody else feel the same way?
Reach’s main problem is that nobody wanted to explore or test out new gametypes or tweaks that play to Reach’s strengths. Instead a lot of people just spent their time trying to replicate Halo 3 gameplay and whined when it didn’t work. If anything you should be playing around with the options and pushing to get those gametypes put into matchmaking.
Yeah most of my friends stopped play it after the hit max Rank
And with a Ranking system with Seasons the just reset they dont want to keep play just to have it erased and ohhhh MORE CREDITS that I can’t buy anything with .
I just hope Halo 4 keeps me wanting more each time I get on and not board and wanting to try new games…
Yeah I’ve been playing less and less games. The whole armor lock thing gets really old. I get it, the people who use it suck. It just gets tiresome. I don’t have much for Halo 4 either.

Thats why there’s playlist like Firefight,Campaign,Griffball,Action Sack, and THE ARena.
They all offer differnt expreinces from the bas game
Oh,and Invasion too.
Absolutely.
I played less when I hit Inheritor because there was no motivation to play. I didn’t even like Reach much and only played it because my friends played it.
When they stopped playing I just went back to Halo 3. I don’t play that game much either anymore but it’s more enjoyable than Reach imo.
Once I hit Inheritor I don’t play hardly at all. I’ve found playing other games so much more enjoyable. I forgot how awesome campaigns of other games can be, and that achievement sound!!! =P
I still pop in Reach occasionally and play 10-15 games. But I used to be on nearly every minute I was home grinding cR!
Honestly it’s just so frustrating, that I don’t even want to play it that much…
Here’s a great idea guys!
If you that bored with the game, STOP PLAYING IT!
I’m just saying.
> Once I hit Inheritor I don’t play hardly at all.
I don’t understand people that play awful games just for an arbitrary rank that means nothing aside from time invested in said game.
I always felt that by letting my playtime be dictated by ranks and credit payouts I would be giving into gimmicks that Bungie had created that in part helped flushed Halo down the toilet.
I’m still playing Reach solidly, its so fun playing matches with all your mates!!
On of the major flaws of the halo franchise (In my opinion) is this is no ability to edit class load-out, unlike most FPS(First Person Shooters) of this day and age, and on top of that armor doesn’t give any special ability or traits.

The biggest problem with the Halo series is the games have progressively become more random and less skill-based.
The Halo 2 BR’s insane aim assist and magnetism, the Halo 3 BR’s random spread and DMR’s random bloom significantly reduced the aiming skillgap.
Other areas less noticeable to the average player like the spawn system have also become more random with a negative affect on high level competitive play.
Players like to reminisce about prior Halo games as many of the found them more fun, less frustrating and more consistent for competitive play so they try to warp the latest installment to meet that percieved level but can’t because unchangeable aspects like the spawn system are different.
At this stage it looks like 343i are heavily borrowing from the COD series and other “experience” shooters with little regard to competitive maps, mechanics and settings.
After seeing Halo 4 in action, i have a hard time motivating myself to play Reach again. I did want to try out the new Invasion maps but i don’t know.
Despite my harsh criticisms of Reach, it’s still Halo. Albeit an unbalanced, slower Halo 3 that is with a better netcode w/hitscan. However, since it was still Halo (don’t laugh it is or else we wouldn’t be playing it) i manage to sink in more than enough time with the game.
I think for myself, it’s time to move on.
It had a different speed and Spartans felt less powerful as they were in Halo 2 and 3. Halo 4 seems to be taking it back to those roots, where a Spartan vs. Spartan action is epic and intense. Reach is as good a placeholder as any, but Halo 4 will breach Reach multiplayer. Load-outs were a good idea and it seems 343 is building on that.
I want to feel like a Spartan again.
got kinda bored after playing mostly gears 3 for a while. nothing changed with reach tho, only thing thats good is the anniversary playlists. and mabye team objective cause thats the only way the 1-sided maps work that shipped with the game
I find the complete and utter rediclus abuse of bullet magnetism and armor lock boring after a while, just no other competitive FPS these days except MAYBE BF3, but I can only take so much of that. Its fun though.
Halo 3 is fun, just feels sorta exiled, if you know what i mean. No one wants to play it. Not that it prevents me from doing so, but finding a match takes forever and no one that plays is enthusiastic as it used to be. never get any custom games invites or anything either like you used to.
There’s too many elements to the game that were frustrating.
H3 >13,500 MM games, H:Reach about 2,500.
My favourite phrase people gave me for Reach was adapt. I did and adapted to COD instead. H4 looks promising.
Don’t confuse yourself - I was extremely successful, I just don’t get any value our of playing it. No ranking system, bad maps, broken game mechanics (armor lock, Banshee and FRG, Sniper too easy)
Nope.
Slightly annoyed by certain Armour Abilities, but I still play it because believe it or not I find that it’s a better game than CoD.
Nope, still go three games a night baby!
If reach had a ranking system that never really finished, something like Halo 3. It would of been more enjoyable, even though I have had the game since September 2010 and I am only a Hero (rank).
