What is 343 doing to doubles? It is a basic playlist that has existed for nearly a decade now. How hard can it be to make it and make it right? This weekends playlist is a joke and a disservice to doubles. I’m beginning to think they are intentionally trying to kill doubles as a playlist. Even the graphic ranking popularity when doubles was on a weekend rotation was calculated to be skewed against doubles since there are only four unique players instead of the typical 8 or 24 for warzone. Many players want this game type, the same game type that they have been playing for years and years. Not a bastardized version. This isn’t rocket science 343. Get it together.
343, please bring a permanent, good, team doubles playlist.

How on earth could 343i have thought this weekend playlist was going to fufill any of our expectations…

Yeah, what the hell? The gametype would work amazingly if it weren’t for the fact that they’re using BREAKOUT maps for basic Slayer. It doesn’t work. Period. Nor does sticking two power weapons on a small map with only two players. What this inevitably keeps turning into is spawn camping because of what the maps are made for - no matter where you die, the only place for you to spawn is where people do in Breakout. It’s predictable, and it breaks the flow of gameplay as well as ensuring that the only way to break the cycle of getting instagibbed by Binary Rifle is to be far, far better than the other team is with the BR.
This is not what Doubles should be. We need vanilla maps - and I mean actual maps - back. None of this Breakout crap that 343i keeps trying to cram down our throats at every possible opportunity. If I wanted to play those maps or that gametype, I’d go into that playlist. Riptide, Fathom, Plaza, these are the maps we need to see in Doubles. Great differences in elevation, plenty of potential movement routes, and spawns that are difficult to predict and offer multiple avenues of escape to prevent spawn trapping.
I agree with all of this. 343 you need to fix your -Yoink-, and fix it soon, or you’re going to end up losing a lot of customers. Especially with doubles. Team doubles is probably one of the simplest game types, and so far you have managed to completely screw it up. Get RID of breakout maps outside of breakout entirely, give us the maps that are already proven to work for slayer. Slayer should be played on slayer maps, not breakout maps. I had been actually looking forward to doubles, and then I played it. My expectation for you 343 keep dropping, because that’s all you’re giving us right now.
Its yoink. Bring it back as it was before. A ranked playlist on decent maps not the breakout maps it wasnt designed for. The current playlist is dull, way too pink, a campfest and with no incentive to play it. 343 just give us what we ad before. Heres some rare praise 343, you had it good before. Why change something that actualy works. Unless you want to alienate everyone. Bring back ranked doubles. Please
Can’t believe 343 could completely screw up my favorite playlist. Bringing in the halo 2 BR? I didnt buy halo 5 to play with halo 2 weapons. You already focused on Halo 2 with the master chief collection… Keep it there 343. Also, doubles should be a permenant, ranked playlist… Not a “weekend special” to which they use rediculous breakout maps with horrible spawns, no genades and an outdated battle rifle. Taking something traditional and simple and throwing in your nonsense is ruining this game for me and many other halo fans. This is the most disappointed I’ve been with 343. Horrible job… Fix it
Just give the people what we want. Have we not made it clear that we want doubles? From the looks of it the earliest we will see it is at the end of March… Almost half a year post launch… After almost 3 years of us telling you to include it in launch. The lack of variety in our playlists is astounding! GIVE US DOUBLES!!

Doubles has been a staple of halo for well over a decade now. Halo has always been about 2v2, 4v4, 8v8. 343 want it to be 4v4 or 12v12. Doubles was always one of my favorite playlists in halo 2 and halo 3. The lack of doubles in halo 5 is one of the main reasons I spend most of my halo time on mcc playing 2v2 in halo 1.
343’s idea of offering little variety has been very disconcerting. The valentine’s doubles playlist would have been fine as a weekend playlist if we already had a permanent, normal doubles playlist. But instead, we do not have the permanent playlist, and the valentine’s playlist feels like a slap in the face to the fans of doubles.
