Is 343 Sweeping MCC Under the Rug?

It pains me to ask this question given I love all the great things they’ve done with MCC. With constant updates I thought the main problems regarding the game could be fixed, then they could move to the minor, then to improving the game.

Did they run those few patches, then just try to avoid talking about the game now because they don’t bad publicity anymore? Do they think that if they keep patching it, unsuccessfully, that they will get more poor articles written about the game?

I truly hope this isn’t their thought process, I just want them to keep working on addressing the problems. Nowadays it’s a bit sad how little support this game is given when I see indie titles on steam getting updates monthly no matter what from such small teams. I just want them to keep fixing the game, and not just move on to hide the failure. I want this game to work and hold my collection of my favorite game franchise for years to come.

Unless a big patch is coming, I get this feeling MCC will be forever remembered in history as broken…

But that’s the thing right? I"m getting the feeling they stopped working on it or talking about to avoid the bad reputation before the release of their new flagship title coming out.

It’s just unfortunate the reasoning for not fixing the game. They need to realize that by not talking about it they may be saving themselves from new customers being afraid of purchasing halo 5, but it does a great dis-service to the fans that have followed their titles for over a decade.

short answer YES. It’s not worth the effort and money at this point to improve the game beyond what it is for two reasons: 1. Low population 2. H5.

I hope 343 isn’t done improving MCC. It’s finally pretty solid but still needs some love. This game will be a blast for years and years to come if completely fixed up.

Exactly. I always pictures this as the one game that should come pre loaded on each xbox one. I was hoping this would ensure a constant large population and community. Like I saw in other discussion, they are having so little communication with fans regarding anything to do with the game

I think the game is working really really well now. I only very rarely get a game crash (which honestly, I’ve definitely had with almost all my other Xbox One titles at one time or another) and finding games is very easy. I’m not sure how the population count is… but I will play early in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon and almost every night from like 8-10 at night and I play all the playlists very randomly and sort of whatever I’m in the mood for, and I get games quickly and consistently all the time. Much better than before.

Right, I too have been having good luck regarding matchmaking. Me and my friends just started playing BTB quite a bit with hardly any problems. In a dozen games, 2 of the got backed out before starting and one of them from Halo CE was absurdly laggy to the point of not being able to play. Besides that I’ve been very happy with it.

I just hope they keep working out the kinks and implementing improvements

Halo stopped being the Xbox flagship with the release of MCC. There’s way too many people that are done with halo for good after MCC. Out of 50 people on my friends list, 20 people bought MCC, 15 returned/refunded/sold their copy of MCC saying they’ll never play halo again and only 5 still play this game and only 2 of those 5 are even debating getting halo 5. Maybe halo 6 will change that. Right now I’d say forza is the new flagship. Titanfall would have been a contender I if it wasn’t for the windows version.

I saw the writing on the wall a long time ago. All 343 needed to do was limp the collection along till we got to E3 and then they could pull the plug on it as all of the H5 hype grew.

I can foresee maybe an update mid August, and then one a week before H5 launches, and that’ll be it.

I hope they don’t sweep it under the rug, I plan on playing it for a long time. I haven’t heard anything about an update recently though.

I suspect there is going to be a very large patch followed by one smaller patch right a month or so before halo 5 comes out. Then that will be it.

I really hope this isn’t the case, this game is essentially everything I’ve always wanted out of collection. I can see so many great ways of improving it and keeping the community alive.

Next up, the playlist team is currently putting the finishes touches on the Action Sack playlist, which will be the next featured MCC playlist. Additionally, we’re looking to make some tweaks and changes to voting options across additional playlists based on feedback you’ve shared – we’ll talk details as we get closer to the release. If you’d like to sound off, be sure to join the discussion in the Matchmaking Feedback section.

343 planning on taking input from the community for action sack? A lot of game choices in Halo 4 were questionable to say the least. Also, in speaking to the cartographers there were many restrictions, some of which seemed unreasonable, that they had to adhere to.

I think the statement itself at the end is stating that any issues or suggestions should be posted on that forum page itself. And not here like everyone else is doing. I checked and more issues are brought up here over the actual support forums thay were designed to address issues
