Is 343 against boosting achievements?

Will you get in trouble if you get a bunch of people and/or controller guests to fill up a playlist to get DLC maps to get achievements? I’d like to know. If it’s considered illegal, how are we efficiently supposed to get the Defiant DLC achievements. There’s no longer a Premium playlist and getting the Defiant maps to pop up in other playlists is usually a crapshoot with slim chances. I’d like an official 343 answer.

If all players are playing it’s legit. If their are guests signed in getting 0 kills you will get banned.

i think what he meant to say is get 1 kill for each guest account and you will be fine

Considering how hard they made them to even try to get, they shouldn’t be.

No…if you are caught idle you get banned no matter how many kills you have…

This. Now, what is allowed is getting a bunch of legitimate players together to boost achievements, so long as every player gets at least one kill. You can have guests, but if they are found idling, you risk being banned.

If 343 doesn’t want people doing that, they shouldn’t have made it such a pain the -Yoink!- to get the achievements. If that’s the only reliable way to get them without waiting hours for the playlist to come up (and then hoping people vote for it at all), then it’s 343’s fault and they should be the ones getting banned.

Exactly. Do whatever you need to get the achievements.

Is that why there are still Grifball boosters with guest getting 1 kill each so they dont get banned. All it takes is just 1 kill in matchmaking and you wont get banned if you AFK the rest of the time, add a few jumps or so and you are good to go boost.

Full party boosting? Not a problem, as long as everyone is playing.

Guest boosting? It’s iffy at best. For the most part, having each guest get one kill will avoid a ban, but I still wouldn’t recommend it.

As per the 11.30.11 News Bulletin:

• Premium Battle removed.

We’ve adjusted the Matchmaking algorithm to match players who have DLC with other players who have DLC more often than in the past. We’ve also upped the weighting for DLC in our playlists so that you’ll see the DLC in your voting options more frequently. Also, remember that all of the Anniversary maps have been added to the majority of the playlists. The combination of these things means that you’re going to be able to enjoy your premium DLC in Matchmaking much more often than ever before.

If you would like to continue playing the game types and maps featured in this particular playlist after December’s Matchmaking update goes live, here’s a handy-dandy cheat sheet to get you started on replicating that experience:

  • Slayer – Visit Team Slayer, Squad Slayer, and Big Team Battle, where DLC has been weighted to show up frequently.
  • Objective – Visit Team Objective and Big Team Battle, where DLC has been weighted to show up frequently.
  • Invasion – Visit the Invasion playlist, where Invasion Breakpoint has been set to show up frequently in slot one.

Granted, I’m not one to simply go with words being posted online. Team Slayer featured a nice game option (players didn’t vote for it, Dangit) of Slayer on Anchor 9, to which, the unfortunate AL player would have found an assassination waiting for him when he exited armor lock…

Unfortunately, that’s BS. Many people have played many games and haven’t run across a single DLC map.

I stayed up all night haven’t seen one defiant map!

> I stayed up all night haven’t seen one defiant map!

That’s why me and DaftLink did the Anniversary achievements first.

Yeah, that was good stuff. Basically, just get 8 people who all have Defiant and go into Team Objective. It helps if at least 1 person in the group has Noble and Anniversary deleted from their hard drive.

you know you can get the achievements through custom games as long as it says matchmade game.
