Vehicles like the Phaeton, Mantis, Banshee and Tank can only be found on Warzone and not on BTB, where it should be also be. And the wraith is on only 1 arena BTB map and there is literally almost nowhere to move around. there no no space it is so cluttered on entombed. what happened to having these in BTB maps and havign lots of space to move around?
The banshee is in Guillotine. But yea warthogs and ghosts seem to be the norm.
i get your point, and I agree, but 343 doesn’t want that much map control, just 1 heavy vehicle could give the game to whoever is faster, so 343 I guess doesn’t want that, but it would be fun
Open halo ce maps are 10 years over due that aren’t remakes.
Most of the BTB maps are too cluttered to make good use the tanks. The tank was on recurve for a while but they replaced it with the gauss hog since the tank was just a death trap.
The Elephant would be cool.

I agree, I’d love to see a Heavy Vehicles playlist. It was awesome in Reach.

oh right ya i have seen it once or twice but it seems like on some modes in BTB, i believe objective, it doesn’t spawn. that or has a ridiculously long respawn.

i dont see much control since its easier to get killed now in tanks n mantises etc than it was before. also other games had 1 for each team which is what balanced it. so say if they have a BTB with phaetons n Mantises the mantis would keep the phaetons in check and mantises, as ground vehicles, will have to worry about all the hijacking. clearly the older halo games managed to do it and now these Spartans are even faster and more maneuverable so i dont see whats wrong with that. in Entombed i was basically a free kill if the other team got the spnkr, luckily the didn’t til near end. i was a pinata to all sorts of gun fire.

thats why they need new maps, im okay with remixes, with less clutter everywhere.

exactly, a 1 = 1 scale. vehicles are already easier to destroy. if they aren’t being attacked by another vehicle, they are trying to be boarded or being shot at by Spartan lasers, fuel rods, rocket launchers, incineration cannons, splinter, rocket, gauss turrets. i dont see the overwhelming advantage of having them in game.

missed those days sometimes, after all the glitches were patched and the banshee wasn’t so ridiculously OP. im glad 343 nerfed the banshee after patch. even the current banshee was no match to the reach banshee.
I would like a mantis in BTB
If thats there problem with map control with heavy vehicles why not do something like Longbow from Halo 4 and have a tank and banshee on both sides?

The tank was freaking hilarious, I grabbed the Splaser once on a CTF game and went back to my base to protect the flag. Every time it spawned in I went and sat there waiting for someone to get in, timing my laser so they’d die right as they got in… Post game one guy was raging sooooo hard! I couldn’t stop laughing!
Most of the BTB maps are too cluttered for a Scorpion or Wraith. I would love a remake of Valhalla or Coagulation (NO NOT IN FORGE -__-)
The problem then is that people would be able to board you too easily because of sprint and thrust.
Others have kind of already said this, but it’s the maps.
We haven’t had gigantic, open BTB maps that can actually support heavy vehicles since like Halo Reach. Even then they started to become somewhat of a rarity after Halo 2.
You throw a tank on Longbow, Wreckage, Basin, or Deadlock and it has no breathing room whatsoever.
The Mantis was the most common heavy vehicle in Halo 4, and only because it was also the most maneuverable in the cramped terrains.
One of the major issues is the map design. Everything is so cluttered and cover heavy that any of the larger vehicles can’t move around and can’t get a shot at anyone. The other issue is that 343 wants things to be “competitive” and in their heads “competitive” means a heavy focus on infantry combat and everyone being on an equal playing field at all times. That means they don’t put many “game changing” vehicles on the maps and even when you do get behind the wheel of a powerful vehicle, a couple of Spartans with BR’s can take you down without to much trouble.
