to be honest I have never been bothered by my k/d, but then I stopped playing halo for a good year or two, came back to it played for a couple of days then looked at my k/d saw 2.58 and I have no idea if it is good or not.help
It’s a hell of a lot better than mine. (Around 0.81)
2.58 is pretty good, certainly above average.
I would say so. Means you typically bring down 2+ guys (nearly 3) each life you get. That’s actually pretty fantastic.
Yep, it is.
I think I have about… 1.4
Close. 1.49
Tis good, I have a 3.39 I think.
It depends how you earned it. If I must be honest, getting a KD above 2.0 isn’t actually much of a challenge. Even lesser skilled players can achieve this by stat padding in objective gametypes or playing BTB in general. However if you earned it via playing players of a somewhat similar skill level (more or less) without crutches like Active Camo to aid you, I would say a 2.58 KD is very respectable and more than I could legitimately achieve.
Chances are though that if you haven’t played in a year, you will be playing players of a very low skill level due to the not so new implementation of the CSR. As a low CSR you match other low CSR players and rank up based on how well you did in a game. That said looking at your service record you apparently have a 1.01 KD and have played several times this year which kinda confused me.
Personally I have a 1.94 KD however I wouldn’t say that is a true resemblance of my skill. Though I am easily an above average player, I’ve also played my fair share of Ricochet in which you can go positive while even using the plasma pistol. The mean reason I stopped playing Ricochet.

The comment by MZealous reminds me of one player I saw who had about 90 000 kills and only 5000 deaths…

http://www.halotracker.com/Halo4/Leaderboards.aspx That 18.0 kd is nothing to a 47.72 kd
Just check the kd leaderboards under general stats.
CSR is a much better representation of how good you are at Halo overall. The only flaw with CSR is that 11-2 is less points (and thus ‘worse’) than 14-18 in individually scored playlists & if you queue alone you’ll get smoked in team based games. That said, you need to use both but I still think CSR means a lot more.
Your 1.01 K/D and lower CSR doesn’t mean you’re bad, it just takes time to get better. I wouldn’t know, I’m very average myself (:
Also, keep in mind if you play alone your CSR & K/D will be lower. When I play with friends (rare, they mostly left), I’m usually 2.0+ K/D, win a lot, and CSR goes up.
Again, I’m not even good. The good players REALLY take it to people like me when they play together.
A 2.58 k/d is pretty good. I know some really good players who are negative. That being said k/d doesn’t always mean that your good or bad. It also depends on what you play for, like getting kills or going for the objective. I have a 2.65 and I’m +187k.
I was looking at the waypoint career k/d does it include custom games stats?
MM and customs are separate.
Your MM k/d, unless I’m missing something, is 1.01.
You’re basing that off of customs AND Matchmaking. Also, due to how you only have 35 completed Matchmaking games, your K/d is very far off from being reliable. You need to play in the vicinity of about 500 games to even start getting an accurate tell of your skill. 1000 games and your K/d really sets in where you average, which is very accurate, but 35 completed matches just isn’t enough to base anything off of.
To keep perspective:
I have over 6000 games played and my Matchmaking K/d is a 2.36.
A much better indicator of skill is win/loss ratio, especially because it can’t be padded as easily.
Your mm is 1.01 and win rate is 32%
Anything above 1 kd is good I spose but its the win rate thats important. Your stats are very average but then again you aint played that much
My kd is only 1.28 win 60% but this has increased since the days of having no teammates. I use the daily stats and graphs on halotracker to see how much ive improved. The graphs are a good way to see your gameplay improvements
As Vektor said above, Win/Loss is a bigger indicator of skill because it’s harder to stat pad, however your K/D is nonetheless respectable.
I play aggressively and recklessly, and have a 1.35 to show for it. But my W/L is a 1.75. (553 victories,[252 of which I was MVP], with 315 defeats.)
I’d rate myself slightly above average.
> A much better indicator of skill is win/loss ratio, especially because it can’t be padded as easily.
except in h4 where JiP, no consistent weapon spawns, dynamic respawns and PoDs absolutely kill that opportunity.
I don’t think H4 has a reliable source for showing how much skill someone has.
