Ironically The Forge Maps Ruin Rumble Pit

Seriously, Dispatch is one of the worst maps. Ever. I don’t like playing on the forge maps in this playlist like shutout, dispatch, simplex, etc.

I would rather play on the community forge playlist maps to be honest.

Of course, what would be best is if I could actually play the DLC maps I payed for MUCH more often. Of course I feel like I’m beating a dead horse there.

Also I play rumble pro WAYY to much. I like it once in a while but 2/3 times pro is what is chosen.

Also also who is tired of abandon? This playlist is much more boring than I thought it would be.

Dispatch is like if Octagon were made into an actual map.

It’s fine in my opinion.

It’s so cluttered… I feel like it is just a trigger spamming session.

I like simplex just fine, but I agree that they should bring back community forge maps. As far as gametypes I’d prefer if there was a custom loadout option with no ordnance or AA, but as is I’m glad that pro is voted for frequently.

Cluttered? But it’s a series of mostly open hallways.

> Also also who is tired of abandon?

Abandon is one of the best maps in the game (granted it sucks in certain gametypes like CTF).

Bad/poorly setup maps ruin Rumble Pit. Dispatch is just bad, shutout is boring(and flat out doesn’t work in Halo 4), Simplex has nothing to fight over in the non-throwdown variant.

As for the default maps they would be enjoyable, but random personal and world ordinance ruins them as well(and in all default gametypes).

Forge playtests have been the most fun I have had playing Halo 4 in objective and Pro(Basically no pod gametypes) because most sane forgers have consistent ordinance which all have superior flow and player movement to default maps. There is actually something to fight over.

I’m not saying abandon isn’t one of the best maps.

Here is the usual selection for rumble pit

Rumble Pro on Dispatch

Infinity Rumble on Abandon

Rumble Pro on Simplex

And dispatch is cluttered with crates every two feet. Sooo booring.

dispatch, dispatch, abandon. HOW I HATE THIS PLAYLISTS SELECTION.

It’s garbage. Even worse than flood.

where are my maps that I paid for?

Certain playlists should be all dlc required like in Halo 3. This is bull- -Yoink-.

Sunday I was having a blast playing Regicide on Solace, Abandon, and Haven. Next morning I wake up getting shot in the back with a DMR by the guy that I just killed less than two seconds ago on Dispatch. The automatic weapons suffer on these forged maps which make them really frustrating to play.

I won’t mind playing regicide on scythe and simplex, but dispatch is horrible.

Oh holy god does it.

If you’re Red team, you’re pretty much screwed, as you have to run the flag uphill. Blue Team just has to get to your flag and fall off the tower and they’re a 1/4th the distance back to their base already.

Yeah that should be a certain form of torture. Be put on red team on abandon infinity ctf.

Ugh, those forge maps for Rumble Pit are peices of crap.

The main reason I don’t care for Simplex and Dispatch is that they feel like watered down variations of Haven to me. I don’t mind adding in forge maps, but something that doesn’t feel like a map we already have would be nice.

no joke.

shutout and dispatch are atrocious.

I would take ANY of the community forge playlist maps over those.

Want to go into further detail? Why are they watered down variations of Haven?

Certainly. And do note that this is from my experiences, perspective and opinion, so this is not so much fact.

The maps all feel (and look) like they are big circles, very similar to Haven. Now I do know the purpose of Halo maps are to make players go around in a fashion that makes people conflict with each other at some point, and a circular map is a very popular way to do so (Sanctuary, Warlock, and Midship are good examples, and popular to boot).

The difference is that between Haven and the forge maps, I am not concentrating on the fact that I am going around in a circle with Haven (even though I know I am going in a big loop), and I am doing so with Simplex and Dispatch. The first couple of games I noticed this as a lot of the fights took place place on the outskirts, and little to no fighting was done in the middle areas (in fact I think I would notice maybe one player out of the others go to the middle, and that was for the OS). In Haven I would see quite a few players going to the middle, including myself, and there were was no motivation other than the players and kills (The Scattershot was an afterthought at best), and that is what I like about Haven over these other two maps is that its structure forces the players to go to the middle in some way, and does not have to use something like a power weapon/up to draw players in the middle (good on you, 343).

I guess what I am trying to get at is that what Haven does well, Simplex and Dispatch do a poorer job at for me. I know that they are not meant to be Haven-clones, and these are forge maps vs a map editor-built map by the devs, but that is just how they come off to me. The map flow of Simplex and Dispatch does not sit well with me.

But again this is based off of my experiences, perspective, and opinion on the maps.

How Abandon is still in CTF is beyond me. It is much more horrible in that playlist than any map is in any FFA playlist.

Hmmmm…

Not I…

But I only play slayer with that map… I don’t venture into CTF…

Abandon is great, it would work really well with a 4v4 one flag gametype.
