Invisible Ranks = GOOD

No more having to deal with Inheritors boasting about their rank and armor worth 8,000,000 credits while still managing to have a K/D ratio of 0.7 and a W/L ratio of 0.5

Now we can all focus on winning. Not our ridiculous inclement weather armor effects and crappy Emile armor replicas.

I actually don’t like this idea. Feels like a lot of hard work for nothing.

Rank has never really mattered too much to me. The only ranking system i’ve ever liked was probably Halo 3’s since you could immediately have an idea of what the opposition’s skill is like via the Skill ratings(1-50).

I agree that others should not be able to view your skill when your in a matchmade game. Although, I do not want invisible skills like Reach. All I want is just to see the rank, that is it.

im unsure of this it sounds good in theory but i guess well see nov 6

What, armor isn’t enough?

Yeah invisible ranks are good, I hate going into a round and seeing a Inheritor or a Forerunner in there it bums me down. I just hope we get achievements that have a lot of points because I like watching the big number go up.

For real, going into a match expecting everything to go to sh*t just because the enemy team hasn’t stopped playing reach since September 14th, 2010 kind of sucks.

There is already like 5 threads on the same subject. .__.

I neither agree nor disagree with you op because quite frankly, I don’t give a flying yoink! about whether ranks are invisible or not.

Arguing about it is as pointless as this and the other 5 threads.

Whats the point of winning to get a rank that no one can see? Its pretty pointless to get a high rank that only you can see. That’s the whole point of being competitive. Winning to achieve something to show how good you are at what you are doing.

What about being proud of placing 1st in the match you just played? I find that much more rewarding and satisfying than a stupid symbol and it shows that I was the best player and I will therefore stand out because of that.

What’s funny is that there will be less people trying/people not trying as hard now that there is no visible rank.

Why anyone would brag about being an inheritor is beyond me

Couldn’t agree more.

That’s what I mean. What’s the point of getting first without being rewarded for it. I don’t understand why the ranks cant be soley off of win’s and losses. If you don’t play with a team go into FFA.

I think I would get used to it very quickly. Getting to win is enough of an incentive for me, and as long as I can see my rank and progression I’m happy. If it’s so important to show it off, you could always take a picture and post it around online. Get it put on a shirt and wear it around.

Are you implying that all of those matches that I placed first in Halo 1 and 2 doesn’t mean anything? That I should be rewarded for it in order for it to mean something?

Showing off the old school way.

Sounds good yet bad to me…

They’re just ranks. The first step would be to stop being so sensitive about anything and everything that resembles rank and statistics.
