Invisible Ranks early next year... FAIL

So I got all excited that they were going to throw in ranks in playlists and clans.
Now I come to find out the ranks are ONLY visible on WAYPOINT? Are you kidding me? 343 save your time now and don’t waste it putting it in at all then. No point if you are not going to put it in the actual game to see. I know the game already matches you up with True Skill but just having the satisfaction of seeing your level go up or down made me play Halo 2 much more and I know all my friends felt the same way. It was what made Halo 2 the best experience for me and I thought this would be coming back.

Now the only thing I look forward to is clans.
Hopefully there will be clan matches of some sort and being able to level up a clan in a competitive way or else I have to throw in the towel for Halo, which I thought I would never do.

inb4 “You will not be missed” since I will keep playing until early next year, in hopes that things may still change since 343 is STARTING to listen to the community and at least put ranks visible in WAYPOINT but that is not what anyone wanted AT ALL sorry to say.

Complains about ranks. Gets ranks. Complains about it.

Thanks for your awesomely constructive post.

The competitive community asked for visible trueskill ranks exactly like halo 2 and halo 3.
343 then makes a ranking system but its not to the specification that people wanted so we are lead to believe.
CSR needs to be visible in game as its an achievement to be proud of and its more exciting to watch it go up and down. Also, going into waypoint is not very user friendly and If I’m trying to hit a 50 I don’t want to have to physically go and check after every game for example.
This is why we are annoyed.
343 please just implement it in game, people will cheat regardless of your efforts to mask it. Halo 4 is a game and people cheat in games. Why not do what CoD did and add a report button to report suspected cheaters then crash the ban hammer on them, problem solved everyone is happy.

Yeah they need to be visible in game

I hate to say it, but you’re having a fit over what you asked for not being implemented exactly how you want. That’s a little selfish, at least they’re being put in, and saying that because you can’t see them they’re pointless, is an ignorant claim, considering they’re still at work. You’ll still be matched with players of your skill level, right? Why the big worry over numbers, because in the end they’re just that, digits on a TV. What if you played at a skill level of 45 in a 1-50 ranking structure, but were ranked as a 7, simply because that’s the system’s associated number to that skill level?

OP will not be missed.

Completely agree. Need ranks, at least in some playlists. See, it’s easy to make everyone happy if you have ranked playlists and casual playlists.

O, and I don’t think Wolfstanus has had a thoughtful, constructive post ever.

I am having a fit over what I asked for?
I can’t find one person that complained and wanted invisible ranks and only seen in waypoint.

As stated before, yes I already know the system works well and matches you with players that are your level. That is an awesome feature, but is not a feature that will keep players on the game for a long period before going to another game.
Reach was a fail and some will agree while others disagree. I thought Halo 4 would be different but its just like reach in so many ways I thought it wouldn’t be.

343 still has a few months to add things or change things but as time goes by players sell the game or quit.

I am just going to hope for an amazing clan feature as that will maybe keep the community alive. Without that, I see it having the same lifespan as Reach =/

Completely agree there is absolutely no good reason they shouldn’t make them visible in game.
