So as we see in the Halo 4 Teaser, we see Chief being able to use Anti-Gravity Thrusters to navigate through the blazing remains of the Forward unto Dawn Frigate. The way that Chief that moved through the debris made me think of an interesting concept.
343 Industries talk about how they will add some features to the Halo Gameplay but still keep it relatively the same. So here is a concept idea. What if we take the concept of inversing some rooms. This would be a Campaign Exclusive Idea so you wouldn’t have to worry about it in the Multiplayer.
If any of you Halo Fans have played The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, then you would at least know of Stone Tower Temple in both forms. Its first form of just the Default Stone Tower Temple and its later reincarnation of Inverted Stone Tower Temple. The whole layout of the Temple’s rooms would change and how the player thought about the objectives would change as well. Soon the sky would become your worst enemy and fear. Falling into a sky abyss.
Since the mysterious planetoid that we see in Halo 4 isn’t something we have encountered in any other Halo Games yet and 343 Industries appeal to take the Halo Universe in radical new directions, perhaps this Planetoid could have Inverse Technology or Gravitational Adjusters in any of its interior structures.
An example of this would be if Chief walks into a big open room with narrow pillars on the ceiling with a big open sky shining upon Chief and Cortana. Chief activates a switch by accident and the room would inverse. Suddenly, the gameplay would shift to jumping across these narrow platforms and reach the other side without falling off. Falling off would result in Chief falling through the Sky.
This is just a really rough concept. I’m not pinning any specific details and anyone can interpret the use of Inverse Platforms in their own way. The Inverse Platforms would not affect the core Halo Gameplay and it would a nice feature. Open Skybox Scenery which people would stare at with beauty would become sights that the Players would cringe at.
