Invasion. What to do? How to make better?

Well maybe Elites are gone, yet doesn’t mean Invasion can’t still exist in Halo 4. And Invasion was really fun, at least the idea and concepts of it are. Overall layered objective modes are awesome.

So with Halo 4, how can Invasion be better. Now it will have to be Spartan v Spartan, however if 343i were to make Elites for this mode, that would be awesome, yet I wont add that as an idea, just more of a wish.

1-More Maps/: Invasion should have more then one map. Other Big Team levels should work with the objective Invasion (not just slayer). Add variety to this mode

2-Easier Forging/: Invasion in Reach is hard to forge. It takes too many tagging, naming, numbering, etc. Make easier creation. The same way Reach made forge easier in general

3-More Tiers and mixed/: Instead of 3 tiers for each map, have a mix. For example the biggest map in the game will have 3+ tiers (maybe 5?) Small ones maye have only 2 tiers.

4-Not just 6 v 6/: The invasion playlist is always 6 v 6. However with the top idea having a change in game size, do player size. The playlist will have a mix of 4v4 (Smallest) to 8v8 (biggest) invasion modes.

5-Better call outs and tags/: Instead of only having visual of your squad mate, your other mates will show up as well. However your squad made will have Halo 2 style emblem call outs. Other players will just have numbers (or vise versa)

6-Inspire from Spartan Ops/: Take ideas and mission objectives from Spartan Ops (not maps) but just ideas. For example an invasion mission could be the same type of mission as in Spartan Ops

7-Better Invasion Slayer/: Invasion Slayer is ok, yet bland. Above ideas apply, more tiers, bigger sizes, more maps. Etc. Yet make better hill markers, And add dynamic ones. For example there could be two hills to take over at one mode. And so on

8-More objectives used/: In Halo Reach it was “territories/KOTH, Flag/bomb” over and over again. Add more. Use Assault, Flag, RACE (yes race) territories, Slayer etc.

It needs to be improved alot. its just Territories, Territories CTF ATM. The game needs to feel if you actually invading an area.

Deserted Maps: We need to get rid of this, why is 90% of Boneyard empty? Improve the map flow.

One more thing they should bring Elites back in Customs and Forge

in my mind i see the need for space to surface or sea to land invsion maps…those should be the ones inspring new invaiosn…After all, its called invasion for a reason, right?

Pift! I got at least 3 threads I’m thinking of starting. I probably wont start any of them, Nevertheless…

I want players to spawn in a Pelican or Phantom. Start with a vehicles. As an objective, you could defend an elephant.

I rather be repeatedly spawn killed…Think about…6vs6 …and the objectives are on an elephant?No thank you.

Let me guess…Ima gonna see if my guessing skills have improved the last time i used them…okay i got two guesses:
1)you want to invest in an idea that seems extremly good for you, but afraid that everybody will hate it or it might actually not be that good?
2)It talks about the CodvsHalo/Killcam/Falldamage/Leaked info/other things that would get your thread locked…

Well, 1 is pretty much on the spot for two of them.

Mainly, I have a ranking system idea, Yeah, I know it’s already decided on and blah blah blah. I just thinks it’s a nice idea for now. Seeing as how we actually know nothing about Halo 4s system.

One problem: “Hmm, I wonder what the forum guys would think of my idea, I’ll see about posting it!”

Goes on Waypoint forums and sees 3 threads on the same page that have titles that basically amount to “Shut up about the ranking system already”

Anyhow I know hat you mean…i have a ranking system idea too, although its more as a forum ranking system than game…

Anyhow,I see how seeing all these ranking system ideas just makes you don’t want to thread them , right?Well my advice for you is to possibly put them on another ranking thread…the way i see it, less people would complain about another ranking system thread since you posted it on an actual ranking system thread…but then gain less people would see it, seeing as how they think:"Oh it another ranking system the…oh wait i already seen that one,looks for another thread)

Add more wave scenarios to it. Reach Invasion basically has Territories, Capture objectives and assault. Maybe one wave scenario could be there’s multiple data servers that have intel on the next wave’s objective, and one side has to download them, but only one has the next wave data on it, so it’s luck as to what one it is.

Another thing they could look into is some kind of reward system; instead on having the weapons and vehicles spawn at the start of each round, players earn points that can be used to spawn the weapons and vehicles, and each have allows for bigger unlocks.

Some kind of target designation mechanic?

Yes to everthing here i have beem thinking about this and i love invasion its a great thing for friends and its an all around good time i really hope they include it in halo 4 and as for all of ya’ll’s ideas they are amazing i would love to see them put in to action ive always wondered why we dont have boats in halo.

That reward system you’re talking about is also the Counter-Strike system, which could work well in Halo…idk

I think for Invasion Slayer the winning team should have a slight advantage, but not by much

For example in Reach 25 kills unlocked the second tier, and 50 unlocked the 3rd (i’m sure, please correct me if I’m wrong)

With Halo 4 the winning team (first to 25) should get the second tier first. The other team should need to get at least 5 more kills. Which promotes teams to try harder, because now being ahead gives you an advantage.

There are 4 rounds. 50(or more) kills for slayer. Or one or two objectives.

Each round picks the 4 Blue guys randomly.

invasion was a really good addition, so chances are it’s not going to be in Halo 4.
