invasion questions

I mentioned this a long time ago on the Bungie forums I think, but I don’t remember receiving an answer. So, I just thought I’d try again here  Anybody happen to know why, in Invasion, the team colours were changed from being green Spartans Vs Blue/Purple Elites? I used to love that feature in the beta, and it really made the playlist feel unique in it’s own little way. I think the Red and Blue team colours are fine for traditional game types, however bland it may seem, yet Invasion offered a nice authentic change that I thought was great. Anybody know why this was changed?

Because Red vs Blue is the traditional colours, Green vs Purple Elites was just to see how it was like for others, regardless, I prefer Red vs Blue.

The colours are meaningless in a SvE gametype any ways.

So that’s the only reason? Hmm, just seems a bit naff, but hey everyone to their own opinion, and like you say colours really don’t make any difference to game play. Just thought I’d ask is all. Cheers bro ^.^

Its because of the two round, not one

If colors where purple(yah) and green(yah)

1 Round: Spartans Green, Elites Purple

1 Round: Elites Green, Spartans Purple

The teams have to be the same colors

I’m sure that could be overcome. It’s like infection, if you start as a Zombie you’re the zombie colour and vice versa. Surely they could just apply that, like they did in the beta, to invasion? I think that’s wrong buddy, I think post #2 is closer to the truth than that.

No it was said in a weekly update on bungie.net that it was becasue of the objectives and two rounds and how the team colors would chnage making elites green and spartans purple… i still wish they could have keep the force color option and have use it

Personally, i’d love it if we got access to our Spartan Color schemes in Invasion. That would be nice, I think we can be trusted not to accuse a Random Spartan of being an Elite spy and carry out a field execution through Ar teamshooting.

I believe making the Team Colours Purple vs Green would be possible with Megalo as a non-toggleable option, but we should still be Red vs Blue on the leaderboards.

Not 100% sure on it though.

So would I actually

Ah well I take back what I said xD Sorry. And yeah, I do agree that having access to your own spartan color schemes would be awesome.

> Seriously, color plays a much larger part of IFF than you’d ever believe. More experienced players can certainly make the snap distinction between a Spartan and an Elite, but it’s not a lot of fun for those players to constantly be pinged by a teammate that can’t.

> Invasion was only 1 round in the beta. When you make it two rounds, you switch sides but it’s important to keep the same colors (for previously explained reasons). Internally for a while it was like this, and you end up with purple Spartans and green Elites. It looks silly, so we made the call to switch it to red & blue.

I personally think the whole red vs blue thing is stupid and in the beta when they were doing other colors I thought they were finally killing it off, which I was excited about.

they took out green vs purple because they wanted invasion to have 2 rounds instead of one, if they didn’t then the elites would be green and the spartans would be purple in the second round.
I think 343 should change it to custom colors though, it would give invasion a nicer feel, and it nobody would be confused because despite color everybody should know that the opposite species is there enemy.
