Hey forum goers,
I recently finished an Invasion map Iv’e been working on for the last few weeks, the inspiration for the map was basically the need for more Invasion maps in matchmaking, I covered more of the problems our playlist has here and what needs to be done.
Basically I took it upon myself to feed the Invasion playlist, by what I hope becomes a map added to a very barren playlist, the gist of what I was trying to convey in my thread linked above is that Invasion is a great gametype with next to zero support.
Enter “Phoenix Base”, the map took up about 5-6 hours of design by sketchs and nearly 35 hours to build in Forge World, took 15 hours the first day, 9 hours the second day, and about 10 hours for the final day of actual “contruction”, plus a few more hours for the little stuff.
The reason for this thread is that I will try and compile some stats from Invasion games played on the map, this is where you come in…
Today 08/13/11 at 12:00pm-5:00pm PST, I will be holding some public playtests for anyone who wishes to try out the map and provide me with some much needed stats and feedback, the type of things I will be logging will be how often do which phases get reached, what in the map needs “nerfing/beefing”, how often do “skunks” occur, ect.

I will be on a bit earlier than noon so if you find yourself on early as well, don’t hesitate to message for early queing into the first match, the games will be 6 vs 6 of course.

Hope you guys enjoyed, if you are interested in playtesting please feel free to log in and message me, ill be happy to put you in a game quickly, again the goal here is to get another map into the Invasion playlist, after playing through it multiple times, I believe this map can make the cut, don’t take my word for it though, please lend a hand with feedback if you do end up playing the map, that way, the map could only get better.
Remember, the whole purpose of this is to, once it’s finished, submit this to the proper people over at 343i, im planning on letting Bsangel know via twitter and hopefully (because she seems like she’ll really look into it) she can put it in the right hands for the hard part…getting it approved for matchmaking, the map isnt perfect I know, but hopefully this can be the push we need as a community to put something new in our beloved playlist.
