The thread is my opinion, I’m not dictating for the masses like several fools think they can.
In Halo 3, Spartans and Elites were thrown into the mix together, they fought against and alongside each other. Since this happened, a lot of people (myself included) wanted a playlist catering to the battle between the Sanghelli and the Spartan.
In Halo Reach, Invasion was a massive success. It gave the fans what they wanted. And because the Elite fans felt neglected, they really enjoyed this playlist. Plus, it really put you into the battle. In normal multiplayer you’re thinking ‘i’m playing a game’ but in Invasion, you feel like you’re in a wonderful mix or canonical campaign and non-canon multiplayer. Total online bliss.
Halo 4 should have Invasion because it is extremely fun. We may not be fighting Elites, but maybe Forerunners? Anyway, these species-wars are always FAR more interesting and compelling, because you can see how both Species operate. For example, Elites are larger and have regenerating health. Spartans are smaller and have to find a health pack to heal. Also, Spartans have different weapons, armour abilities and different map-based advantages and disadvantages to Elites. So you can see how each species operates and how they interact with different weapons, enemies and maps and scenarios.
So, to finish, halo 4 is a must because it makes everyone happy! You an Elite fan? Play Invasion! Wanted a Spartan vs Elite Playlist since Halo 3? Go play Invasion!
EDIT:
NPC’s could be incorporated into Invasion with ease. With the Reach engine, you could have around twenty or more NPC’s on the battlefield and four players, and Spartans. If this was flipped around, so to speak, then you could have, say 6v6 teams, each team with five NPC’s to help. The reach engine already has coding for Spartans, so that wouldn’t be too hard, and just beef up the Elites a little and there you go. This would make the map and game far more hectic. Now I’m not going overboard and trying to cram like thirty NPC’s and 8v8 teams. Just five more at the very most, to give you that real battlefield play. Reach promised large-scale warfare, and we got about eight more enemies on screen at a time compared to Halo 3. This Invasion 2.0 would be the most EPIC game anybody will ever play! 6v6 players, backup of 5 NPC’s per team. Objectives, Slayer, all mixed together? I can’t think of anything better then that.
Or perhaps it doesn’t need to be Elites and Spartan NPC’s. What if the player was followed by either a squad of ODST’s or Jackals, as weaker backup? Just a little idea to add to this whole thing.

But it’s good to see that so many people want Invasion! Whoo!
