Invasion for Halo infinite?

Invasion is one of the best playlists halo ever created, it’s always populated, ppl love it. It’s the only 6v6 gametype (and it should remain that way) that involves multiple objective gametypes.

I would like to see it return in Halo infinite, the same formula, spawning on partner or on original spawn, 3 phases (first phase king of the hill, 2nd phase king of the hill or bomb plant, third phase capture the core).

It’s a playlist that requires communication, strategy, and skill to an extent.

What do you guys think? I do believe it should also be ranked, it’s one of the sweatiest playlists I’ve ever played.

Well if it’s going to be in Infinite it would possibly be better as social mode with ranked playlists being more simple & balanced modes.

I agree with both! It’s an amazing game-type, but putting it into competitive in MCC Reach just ruined it. People take the mode too seriously now, because a lot actually care for their stats. I hope we’ll get the mode in social in the future and that it comes back in Infinite too! Hope to see different factions as well to spice things up and change the sandbox from time to time!

Well most ppl who play it now are only playing it to rank up, it works just like a social playlist where you can match anyone so there really isn’t a difference. Yeah ppl will be serious cuz they want to rank up lol, but putting it in social now would just kill the playlist due to the fact that the majority of ppl who play it are trying to rank up.

I’d be okay with it having two versions, a social or ranked, if halo infinite has the population for it. I wish there was a ranked version of every playlist tbh with incentives to play them (i.e. name plates, achievements, etc).

Well, yeah. Removing it from ranked now would be too late of course, but like you already said the mods can be put in both social and ranked. It can be used for training too! R6S did it around a year ago with “unranked” and it was a huge success! To be fair a reason why it works is that the matchmaking options are limited and thrown together. In Halo the risk to divide the community to thin is always there. Without people getting so serious or preoccupied with ranking though all those crazy scenario’s from OG Reach would come back! I don’t see people taking risk or using nonsensical strategies just out of fun anymore. The invasion we have now is not the same thing as for a decade ago and I don’t think it’s a change for the better. In fact I think putting it into ranked before social was a huge mistake to begin with!
