If invasion returns in Halo Infinite, or any kind of Spartan vs Elite game, I really think it would be cool if they let us use our chosen colours since we could just tell each other apart by our species. It would make every battlefield look so unique and cool like it was a campaign mission.
I have wanted this in Reach for forever, but realized that probably isn’t likely for MCC to do that at this point.
Wouldn’t mind that, actually. I mean, having the red & blue helps the average person still distinguish a player’s team, but as you said, the species ultimately does this as well. I think it’d be a nice addition, but might cause confusion(and I mean MIGHT, I’m pretty sure the average person can distinguish a Spartan from Elites).
I’d love this for sure. One of the things I like about Gears PvP (not that I play it all that much) is how it’s designed in a way to allow you to use your unique skin. Invasion is the perfect candidate for this. I wonder if Bungie simply looked this over when making Invasion or they intentionally stuck with red vs. blue.
That would be a really cool idea!
And if playable elites return hopefully they have a little bit more armor customization and color customization, I always felt elites had kind of a dull color in reach.

That would be great. I’d also suggest bringing back the H2 secondary colors when you are on a team.
Invasion is great. I do hope they bring it or something of the sort into Infinite! I’d love to play as an elite again. I think that’s what made Halo so great in my opinion.

True, it would add to the fun of it. Seeing elites back in Halo multiplayer alone will be exciting for me.
The one thing I like about halo reach invasion beta in 2010 was elites purple Spartans green It gave it a unique look

It was a great idea, and fun as well. Also, why not bring playable elites, brutes, flood, and prometheans to multiplayer.

Invasion almost had something like this, in the Halo reach Invasion beta the Spartans had 3 different shades of green, where Elites had 3 shades of purple not sure why it was removed in the final game.
I prefer the colors of the beta (green spartans vs blue or violet elites)
On a side note, in destiny, the PvP just leaves players with their chosen colours and has other ways of identifying players. This is something I actually like about that game because a forced colour isn’t always necessary. There are big differences in destiny and halo, but this makes me think that letting us use our own colours in invasion would really work well.
Honestly, I would be happy with green and purple too, I’d even be happy with red abd blue if it means invasion returns. But I do hope we could use our own colours.
I agree, since if you cannot tell the anatomical difference between a Spartan and an Elite I really have no clue how you even safely exit your bedroom.

I actually think Rocket Leagues approach would work great. You could choose what color combos you have on “Red vs. Blue” so that similar colors are still relevant and lorewise would be more consistent.
