Introduce a quit ban in Team Doubles!

Hi,

I’ve been a big fan of Team Doubles back on Reach and I was really excited to see it coming back in H4.
I’ve tried to play 4 games yesterday night with a good friend of mine who was my most frequent partner on Reach. The first game was pretty well balanced and we won by 150 to 110 after time was up (Abandon). I believe they were technically a little better, but our tactical skills gave us the win. The next three games matched us with less skilled players (as far we have played them). One team quit before the game even started*. The second team left after our first two kills and the third team left with the score being 180-10…
Then, I stopped playing it. I realized that only opponents that were better than us would play the games. I like challenges, but what is the point of this?
There should be a quit ban associated with Team Doubles. Seriously, it shouldn’t be that easy for a team to keep quitting until they find weaker opponents… When you go to Team Doubles, you take the challenge. I don’t like the idea of not having the opportunity to finish most of my games because I’m winning.

What do you think?

  • I’m SR130 with a 1.61 K/D, HTR 41. My friend is SR94 with a 1.3 K/D and a HTR 38.

I think there’s a one hour punishment in place. Perhaps this needs to be strengthened overall or just in more competitively-focused playlists?

It’s interesting to contrast your post with one from yesterday that advises people to quit out of matches that could be lopsided:

It also raises the question of how players will behave once Team Throwdown and CSR come to town.

Theoretically, in a sufficiently large population, the system should be able to supply fair games over time. If TrueSkill is to do its job, people cannot pick and choose or otherwise manipulate matches.

This was happening more than 70% of the time when I played last night too. It all stems from being able to view other teams K/D’s… If there not going to display in game CSR rank then they should also take away your ability to view service record in game as well…

It was so unbalanced its not even funny…i had maybe 1 or 2 competitive games where all the others where players that absolutely destroy you or vis versa.

I thought team doubles was going to re new some life to this game but I found more of the same complaints about this game… Disabling viewing the service record might be somewhere to start, but on the same side, people will quit mid game even more.

When CSR is released, im sure the penalty for quitting is going to be far more severe than losing a match
