Intro of MP games with Poses is Cheesy

Just a thought that would rather start the game immediately than see my squad do a bunch of cheesy poses.

I get they want people to show off their spartan and pose animation, but if they can add an option for us to skip it in the settings in some way, that’d be nice. Just have it look at the map some more or something.

I really like the poses. They give your spartan an obvious personality without having them say “over yonder” every 3 seconds, and I think choosing a pose that really speaks to how you envision your spartan will be a great part of customization.

I thought it was clever, in the future I bet that having an equipped starting pose will be an option (it may be a thing already but I don’t know about it). You can now not only express yourself through your armor but also with your starting animation. If your spartan is aggressive and ready for a fight, the punching pose is perfect. If your spartan is excited and just can’t wait to grab that beautiful SPNKr, the arms spread, torso lowered pose is just the thing for you. If your spartan is quiet, a bit scary, and frankly prefers killing new people rather than befriending them, an animation in which your spartan tosses their knife into the air, catches it, and throws it towards the camera is perfect expression.

The options are limitless, it actually gives me some pretty strong Red vs Blue vibes which I love. Anyways, I think that, yes, its a tad cheesy, but that’s what I love about it.

I thought we went over this with the Halo 5 beta. Keep the intro to games quick, and then you can show off the team after the match ends.

I like them, and how the poses where random between each of the players

Gives people a little more time to setup, but more important shows your teammates and gives everyone the opportunity to show off their armor, which will be far more diverse down the line. Could get more player interaction by someone messaging another player asking how they got a certain armor piece/coating.

Also for me personally it’s worth it just for that sick zoom into the helmet to start the match. I love that, definitely classic Halo vibes from that.

They are all standing in military formation at the end of the match though. Like their drill sergeant has just called ten-hut!

That’s a good way to look at it. Maybe it’ll grow on me, who knows.

I hope there will be more poses to choose from. The punching one looked a bit too goofy for my taste.
