HaloFollower conducted an interview with none other than the voice of Halo himself, Jeff Steitzer! Here’s a link to the video:
So I’d like to talk about something that Jeff said that really ticked me off. Please keep in mind that I’m not usually a 343i hater, but in this case, it’s justified.
I don’t know about you guys, but I think that Jeff’s voice in H5 is trash compared to the older Halo games. And JEFF AGREES! He says in the interview that the voice acting process with 343i is very different than with Bungie, and he says that in H5 they kept pulling back and restricting his voice acting. HE SAYS that HE KNOWS that he doesn’t sound as good as he has before.
So it’s not just us. Jeff agrees that 343i made him sound bad.
Shame, 343I. Just let the man do his thing! Bring back the old Jeff!
Not only that, but JEFF SAID THAT 343i WAS CLOSE TO REPLACING A TON OF THE MAIN ACTORS, including himself and Jen Taylor, who voices Cortana.
Really 343i?!?
Jeff sounds way better in Halo 5 than Halo 4. In H4 his voice had to many effects, but in H5 his voice sounds clean, probably just the same as he did in Bungie’s trilogy. Hearing Combat Evolved hypes me up so much.

Mostly because I hate how a lot of their videos have annoying clickbait titles. Then this guy’s voice and pronunciations don’t help at all (He pronounced Emile as “Emily”). And then there’s the ridiculous speculation they come up with sometimes. And it’s impossible for me to forget about this whole incident.

Thanks. I know a thing or two about bad speculations! Saw a video of Game Theorists titled “Halo Armor’s Fatal Flaw”. That video made me cringe worse than hearing someone pronouncing Emile’s name as Emily!

That whole thing made me facepalm so hard. The neural link part makes no sense because, well, if that were the case, the Spartan would die anytime they took the helmet off because that’s where the main interface is. I think i’ve said this somewhere else before, but I explain beatdowns with:
-Spartans can lift tanks
-Spartans will punch people with that same amount of force
-That kind of force to the spine or neck breaks them, killing you or crippling you for life.

I agree that HaloFollower isn’t that great, but I’d encourage you to watch the interview. Despite my annoyances, Jeff is still a joy to listen to

My favorite would have to be Reach. His voice just sounded so awesome. I actually prefer it less clean personally

One time I heard someone pronounce Emile by saying E-Mile
When he says clusterluck. The absolute best.
If 343i had gotten rid of Jeff, Jen, or any one else who is important to the series (god forbid they even consider getting rid of Keith David), I probably would have made Halo 5 my last Halo on principle.
